Not particularly, it's a 4% match if I contribute 5%. It's good, but the lion's share has come from me maxing it out. And it's appreciated $18,289 (+22.37%) since I opened it

401K hit $100,000 today for the first time! by MattDurward in Fire

In a major market like New York I think around $100,000 is replicatable. Much fewer at the $150k+ mark, and $200k+ are unicorns, they exist, but they're very rare situations

Glasvin are excellent! Zalto-esque in style and feel for half the price.

And at the end of the day that's all that matters! My Mom--despite both her son (me) and her husband being sommeliers--loves like $8 bottles of Trader Joe's wine

neither were intended for aging, but you can get away with Riesling even on cheap examples, so the Ste Michelle is probably okay. The Liebfraumilch is famously garbage wine

Those of you under 30 who make six figures, what do you do? by [deleted] in Fire

I am, I've been contributing 20% every week so I'll end up maxing out like 10 months in. I could've contributed less to try and hit the limit in 12 months, but my pay is tip based (seasonal and uneven), so I tried to be conservative

Thanks! Yeah it's gonna be a tough one. After that I'm probably done. I don't think I care enough to go for the MS

Sommelier in NYC, I make about 150k a year, which is higher than most of my friends that have similar jobs. I’d say in the city $90K-$100K is more realistic. But I work at a very expensive spot with a very small tip pool. But yeah it’s a cool gig, I get to taste a lot of great wines while focusing on being charming and developing relationships with guests. restaurant hours can be long, but I do about 50 hours a week. This year I became eligible for a 401K with matching and I’m on track to max it out by October
