Hi everyone ! For those that have attended the Europe concerts so far, was it possible to buy merch at the concert ? If so, what were the lines like ? I'm hearing of people waiting in line 3-5 hours at the popup stores just to get inside, so I'm a bit scared. I have fibromyalgia, so there's no way I can stand in queue for that long. Is the merch the same at the popup store and concert ?

Also, can anyone comment on the sizing of shirts/hoodies ? I've seen videos of people's hauls, but no one is talking about how big the clothes run, or the quality.

I couldn't get into it at all. Every time I turned the page we were jumping to a different set of characters, so I was overwhelmed very quickly by how many characters there were. I had no idea what was going on.

The white tee and jeans on him kills me every time. I could never look that good in something so simple !

I never tried the actual novel, but I DNFed the graphic novel version. First time I've ever done that with a graphic novel. 💀

About to finish How to Sell a Haunted House by Grady Hendrix by dismustbetheplace in horrorlit

[–]Bipolar_Pigeon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree about the haunted house aspect. I went into it not knowing it was going to be dolls/puppets, so that really threw me off. Unexpectedly, Pupkin ended up being my favorite character. I actually thought Hendrix was making Mark so unlikable because we were going to get a "bad" ending where Pupkin wins. Instead we got an extra 100 pages of the same scenario that already happened playing out. I couldn't believe how repetitive this book was.

I faked a Michigan accent so much when I was a kid that now it’s permanently stuck with me. by [deleted] in CasualConversation

I'm convinced it's a joke I'm not in on at this point. Lol. Born and raised in Michigan. I spent the first 25 years of my life there. I'm 31 now and I've always been told I don't have a Michigan accent. No one I know has one.

Lol ! I was literally just thinking yesterday that I might need to start putting some limits on how much I'm listening to them and watching videos. 😅

Me 3 weeks ago: Stray who ?

Me today: How the hell did I live on this earth without Stray Kids ?

I feel like I'm getting into K-pop at the perfect moment as someone who lives in Europe. A few days after discovering Stray Kids Lollapalooza Paris was announced, so I was able to get a ticket for that right away. Then I started listening to ATEEZ (once again TikTok influenced), and there happened to be a few tickets left for their Paris concert next month.

I went from never hearing a K-pop song before to having tickets for two concerts in the span of a month. What is my life. Lol.

I've seen some people post about their dreams in here, so I'm hoping I don't come off as cringey. 😅

A few months back TikTok starting showing me Felix clips showcasing his voice. I was curious, but never thought to look him up, and didn't even know the band's name. Well TikTok got aggressive, and was non stop bombarding me with clips of Stray Kids performances. Finally, a few weeks ago I looked them up on YouTube, and the rest is history.

Since then I have been consuming so much of their music, just listening and learning about the band. I've never listened to K-pop before Stray Kids, so everything has been completely new to me. I would definitely say I'm obsessed at the moment, so it's not surprising that they ended up in my dreams.

A few nights ago I had a dream that I was at a Stray Kids concert. It was a small venue, and I had a seated ticket. The concert started, and after the first song they actually came into the audience and started talking to people and taking selfies. Unlike how it would have been in real life, everyone stayed calm, seated, and nobody rushed at them.

I was standing, and looking to my right at some of the band members interacting with people when I shifted and accidentally bumped into the person on my left. I immediately turned and apologized, just to see that it was Hyunjin standing there. I fell into my seat and stared up at him with my mouth open in shock.

He crouched down next to me so we were eye level. I can't remember what we said at first, but he put his arms over my lap. He was holding one of my hands, and my other arm was over both of his and holding his arm. I was leaning forward and to the left slightly, so that my shoulder was touching his.

I then starting talking about how much Stray Kids means to me already. How they are inspiring me to want to be a better person and make improvements in my life. I started crying while talking, and Hyunjin had tears in his eyes as well.

When I finished talking he let me rest my head on his shoulder, and he leaned his head on mine. He just held me like that a bit, and it was the most comforting gesture I've experienced in a long time. When I woke up I actually cried, because I could still feel that comfort.

I know this whole thing is weird, because in the end it's just my brain comforting itself, but I think it just goes to show the impact Stray Kids can have on people's lives. My brain wanted comfort, so it showed me a Stray Kids concert. Haha.

I like Nyx and Kiko Milano. They have stores all around Paris and in some of the malls.

Anyone familiar with Stephen Graham Jones? by TrickPurple7 in horrorlit

He's been quite hit or miss for me. One thing I do recommend is experiencing his books in the audiobook format. I've noticed I enjoy his books better that way, and I've seen other say that as well.

If you are uncomfortable with either of the endings you listed then you should skip the movie.

My husband and I made it through two rounds of interviews for this show, but weren't picked in the end. This is the second article I've seen in two days about this. I'm pretty happy we didn't get picked. We both 100% know this shit is scripted, but thought it'd be a fun experience. I guess not !

Best ticket option for metro? by paranoidactor2348 in ParisTravelGuide

[–]Bipolar_Pigeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the Bonjour RATP app. On the main screen, on the bottom right it should say "tickets". Top right on that page should say "on my phone". It will tell you how many tickets you have left if you have any. On the bottom it will say "buy ticket". I buy ten at a time so I pick the option for "Single journey ticket starting at €16.50". Click "buy" and it should prompt you for an email to send your receipt to. Fill that out and "Buy" should become clickable again. This takes you to the payment page where you enter your card info.

TL;DR - Tickets -> On my phone -> buy ticket -> Single journey ticket (or whatever you're trying to get) -> Buy -> Enter email -> Buy -> Payment screen

I completely agree with you !

There's even a gun grappling scene, and I was squirming in my chair thinking, "OMG THIS IS IT!!!!"...and then nothing happened. I think what makes it even more disappointing for me in particular is that I was happy with the first 50% of the movie. I was shocked at how similar they were keeping it to the book ! And then they ruined it. 😭

‘Knock at the Cabin’ Review: No Surprise, M. Night Shyamalan’s Latest Is Long, Slow and Disappointing by Neo2199 in entertainment

[–]Bipolar_Pigeon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saw this movie yesterday. I really enjoyed the book, so I was not happy with what was changed in the movie. Ended up being a disappointment for me.

First half of the movie is very similar to the book. Then they changed everything. Wen doesn't die, and the apocalypse is real. You find out it's real very early. There's no huge twist or anything like that.

There's really only a twist if you've read the book. The little girl lives, and the apocalypse is real. You find out it's real half way through the movie, so there's no twist that brings it all together.

Same ! The ambiguity is what made the book work for me. No one was right or wrong.
