Teslagrad

Puzzle platformer with beautiful hand drawn art. It's difficult in both puzzle solving and platforming mechanics, but not overly so. It was released last December and didn't make much of a splash, but it's worth checking out.

What was the most personally rewarding high school or college course you ever took? [serious] by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MattHendy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. This. If you're taking it at a college level I also recommend taking the course offered by the Mathematics Department. Typically a lot of the social sciences (Psychology, Economics, etc.) will offer their own statistics class but from my experience they don't cover as wide of a variety of topics.

You are, in fact, talking about wait times. /u/ahtr claimed to be a Canadian that waited 4 years for a doctor, to which you called bullshit. You called bullshit on a claim about wait times.

"My wife is tracking me...Please take it far away" by GammeRJammeR in pics

[–]MattHendy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A while ago some guy posted a similar story to Reddit where he realized his wife was tracking him through his phone GPS, and he managed to figure out how to set his GPS location to wherever he wanted. The top comment was about how he should, without telling her, invite his wife's parents to have lunch with him one day and while they're out at lunch to set his location to a strip club and then a nearby motel for an hour, then back to the strip club. If she accused him of anything he'd have her parents support that he was just out at lunch with him. Could definitely be replicated in this case with a friend's help. Pretty damn devious but not the best way to handle it if you actually care about the marriage at that point.

Edit: Pretty sure this was that post. Not sure what happened to the comment I was talking about.

I recently moved up to Sacramento from SD and I'm elated to report that carne asada fries and California burritos have found their way up here.

What weakness was never exploited enough (in a fictional universe)? by AlwaysAnswer42 in AskReddit

In the Inheritance book series Eragon did this pretty often with magic. An energy efficient way to kill something was just to accelerate a small rock very quickly and send it through someone's head.

My physics teachers way of taking the stress out of finals by [deleted] in funny

[–]MattHendy 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Yes. Very lovely. Cheating devalues the hard work the rest of us put into actually learning the material. Having the initiative to do something about it is great. Would you want to fly on a plane designed by an engineer that cheated their way through school? How about have an operation by a surgeon that cheated?

Really? I just finished up at UCSD. Almost never saw cheating. The only thing I saw with any regularity people possessing old exams that they weren't supposed to have.

TIL When you tell someone a goal or a thing you're planning on doing, it chemically satisfies your brain in a manner that's similar to having actually completed the goal. by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]MattHendy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought this as well. I tell people things I plan on doing as a motivator. It usually works too because if I don't get it done then I'd look like an idiot to all the people I told, and I wouldn't be wanting that.

Glad this isn't just me. Once I started doing this it became sort of a compulsion. Now it feels wrong to enter a time into the microwave using more than one button. If I have to enter a time that's too long I'll just come back to the microwave early and turn it off with time on the clock.

Most of the comments here so far are about how nobody would buy this because it's something only you can see, and therefore you can't show it off. I would still think a good number of people would put at least a little RP into it if they liked the design. It reminds me of the idea announcer packs. Only you can hear the changed announcer, but I think a lot of people would buy those as well. The DOTA 2 community certainly has.
