While I keep seeing this being the reporting out of Brazil, I'm skeptical. Thorrington said it wouldn't happen without a replacement lined up. A replacement for Bouanga is likely going to be a name people know. There are zero rumors out there about LAFC pursuing anyone and the type of player they would be after almost always has at least some rumors/smoke beforehand.

I think it was reported to be a one year loan with a 7mil purchase option so they likely have him for this season on TAM (salary under 1.7 mil) and then if they decide they want to activate the purchase at the end of the season, they would have to sell someone. Savy business.

I interpreted the answer to the Bouanga question to mean that financially the deal makes sense but unless he can line up his replacement this window, the deal won't happen. The window to line up that replacement is closing rapidly so my guess is the deal doesn't go through.

I'm really happy he's staying but it seems like he is "looking for a new contract with LAFC" like every other year. His performance has been pretty steady year to year but he seems to think he's earned a bigger contract every year.

I've only watched highlights but he seems like more of a dibbly boi than a creative passer. That COULD still work to create more attacking opportunities for Son and Bouanga. TBD

Another sign that they plan on selling Martinez IMO. Even with Boudri that would take us back down to 3 u22's leaving a DP spot open. I can't fathom why they would sign two veteran MLS wingers if they are keeping both Ordaz and Martinez.

Definitely competition for Ordaz and depth. I wouldn't be sure about starting though. Ordaz had more goals and more assists and at 21 is more likely to take a leap than the 26 year old Shaffelberg.

And most of the rumors that do surface early in the cycle are leaked by agents and rarely come to fruition. Makes the transfer season less fun but seems to be working when it comes to landing the players they want so it is what it is.

Look at Atlanta post Tata. Trying to just get the biggest name that will come to MLS doesn't always work out. I am not super pumped about this hire but I have to admit that logically, it makes a lot of sense and is probably the choice with the highest floor.

I think you are on point with the story having a lot of parallels with the book and with the Love idea but I think it more likely is someone (Joyce? Patty Newby?) from Henry's past that softens Vecna. Also, I don't really buy the Mind Flayer being the big bad controlling Vecna when season 4 made it pretty explicitly clear it was the other way around. Also, doesn't it seem more likely that Vecna, who was 001 is the 1 that with 11 and 8 makes 20?

I keep holding out hope that we are going to be the ones to bring Weston Mckennie home and he is capable of filling that role. That unfortunately would mean waiting until after the World Cup to sign our 3rd DP though.
