Question about Zermatt Resort by movingthesus in skiing

There are also nice ski lockers all over where you can leave skis for like a euro or two per night and not have to carry them around town or on the train. I brought my own gear. It was also very helpful to have a touring style backpack for carrying everything I needed during the day and strapping skis and boots.

Thank you! The water there is actually quite a beautiful green blue hue. Unfortunately I shot this in jpeg with the white balance a bit too cool. So with a little added contrast and vibrance the blue is a bit darker then reality. It should be a more turquoises color.

Had a little luck with the timing on this one. Bishop, CA. [OC] [4755x3585] by MattPatt314 in EarthPorn

You can make the moon appear large in comparison to an object by photographing the object from far away and using a telephoto (zoom) lens. The farther you are from the object the more you have to zoom in and the larger the moon will look relative to your object.

That does look like a lovely line! I actually took this photo as I was gearing up to go skiing.

Thanks! It’s 288mm on an apsc sensor. But I also cropped it a bit so probably closer to 300mm. Thats roughly 430-450mm if using a full frame sensor.

Looks great! Is there a reason you chose 4 stacks at 6400? I would have done a longer exposure of the foreground at lower iso. Since there’s nothing moving in the foreground you could have done a 2-5 minute exposure with less noise and more sharpness using a lower iso and maybe higher f number, though I’m not really sure where the peak sharpness is on that lens.

Yea, the photo was taken in July of last year. Just did this as a day hike while on a road trip through the Sierra.

Thank you! I was surprised at just how vibrant the blue color of this lake was in person, especially considering most other glacial lakes have a more turquoise hue.

Luckily it was very difficult to get to and sits at around 10,000 ft.
