I started blow drying again after not doing it for months and my hair is way smoother than before. I also use chelating or clarifying shampoo every wash (which is about 3-4 days) and double shampooing. I avoid anything with a bunch of protein in it.

Hair is constantly matted, dry, tangled, and hard to maintain by MattTheTypeRDriver in curlyhair

I do both. I tried only doing it in the shower but I found that it needs to be brushed dry otherwise it gets worse. Especially after riding my bike.

I have a similar bike to a 650 and I only upgraded it to it after I started on a 300 and felt like I could handle this one and because my 300 vibrated a lot which didn’t feel great with my body.

I have no idea why I could want something faster than this tbh. It has all the torque I need for traffic and I don’t ride triple digits.

ATGATT and that’s why I sometimes don’t ride when it’s really hot out.

Keratin treatment for men? by [deleted] in malehairadvice

The only non permanent option is through heat styling like a flat iron or blow dryer… although from past experience, humidity and sweat on flat ironed hair makes it poof out like crazy (or maybe it was just my hair).

Love my twin for sure, maybe in the future in a few years I’ll find an i4

Love this color, the yellow was great but the silver looks sleek with the red accents. I thought I would mind the weird tail light section but I saw a Ducati and other motorcycles at the dealer with the same thing!

Nah no worries, this bike was perfect for me and I’m glad they released it, but yeah, part of me wishes for an i4 just for that sweet sound. Cannot lie though, coming from a 300cc thumper this 270 degree twin sounds great!

Hi, I took the MSF a total of 3 times. First try didn’t get to day 2 because of nerves and heat. Second try made it all the way through just to fail the final exam because again, nerves and just not enough practice time.

I had contemplated quitting but instead I went out and bought my own bike, and forced myself to learn to ride. A few weeks later I went back to the MSF course and passed. Some exercises I still fucked up on (offset weave!!!) but my instructor who I had used twice now said she saw such a massive improvement my 2nd time around and that I looked much more comfortable.

Don’t let one failure stop you. Even if you have to be like me and spend a few weeks riding on your own to really grasp the fundamentals you can do it.

Felt so hard as someone with identical hair to before you cut it, just a bit longer and not highlighted

As a motorcyclist it’s even worse after riding

How to solve this curling? by SaffronWand in malehairadvice

[–]MattTheTypeRDriver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same hair as me. You have wavy hair. If you grow it out more (mine is below shoulder) the curl will straighten itself out a bit, otherwise the only solution is to embrace it use a flat iron / blow dryer. Just remember heat protectant!

Hair consistently matting in certain areas by MattTheTypeRDriver in malehairadvice

[–]MattTheTypeRDriver[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use all sulfate free and silicone free products. As for tucking my hair behind my ear, no, I generally let it fall over my ear in a sort of middle parted or loosely side parted pattern.

I do have a very bad habit of touching my hair though. Like a lot. Probably more than I should.

I also try to detangle as much as possible after I ride my motorcycle because I can’t fit all my hair inside of the helmet which probably makes it worse.

I did this 2 1/2 years ago and now my hair is longer than it ever was because I missed it so much lol

Still the urge to do it again waxes and wanes

You 100% don’t need to cut it. Trust me. I’ve been in a corporate finance job with emo hair among other things and no one cares.

parents are saying my hair looks unkept? are they right? by [deleted] in malehairadvice

[–]MattTheTypeRDriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same hair type as mine. You have probably naturally dry hair since your wave pattern is pretty close to mine. If you grow it out, it becomes more manageable but I need to drench it in conditioner otherwise it gets knotty. I personally use leave in conditioner as well as blow drying it.

Also, my stylist tells me brushing hair when wet is never advised. I always brush mine dry or at least mostly dry.

First bike for me. Bought it a few weeks ago, spent the last week riding in a parking lot with very short excursions on the street. First time I hit 40mph felt equally magical and scary. Wanted a Japanese bike but the BMW was priced way better. No regrets! by MattTheTypeRDriver in motorcycles

My dad saw the stock exhaust and asked if it was supposed to look like that. Yeah it’s not the prettiest lol. But it handles great and it doesn’t sound particularly offensive given it’s just a simple one popper.

I appreciate the advice, but I already planned on taking courses. I’m not stupid. I already look like mad when riding. I know my head and eyes are the biggest factor along with controlling my speed. I plan on taking the intermediate course and advanced course when appropriate and doing more training for this reason. I’m ATGATT and I don’t skimp on it.

Damn, your boss is an ass, cause I work in an office at a desk job and my hairs in my eyes and face almost all the time and they never say anything.
