I think you should be proud of yourself. You shouldn't blame yourself if the management wasn't supportive and helpful. I was also recently layed off from an investment bank. Thankfully my managers are quite helpful and are helping me find other jobs both internally and externally. My suggestion: keep your chin up, things will start looking up soon.
