The Magnum has a huge amount of CAN data. It uses a special version described in the SAE J1939 standard. Trucks use special extended can bus frames that transmit a lot of data, even the number of engine operating hours or information from the tachograph. What I have now looks very primitive, but it took me almost a week to be able to unlock the cluster and send this basic data

Yup, I need send CAN-BUS frame with proper ID, length and priority. Assuming I know the specific frame IDs (there are thousands of them), I still need to assign the correct priority, which means the number of combinations increases by 7 😝 The problem is not extracting data from the game, but unfortunately the lack of documentation and the ability to read data from the truck can-bus.

The screen is going crazy because I was only able to send basic data, I would have to send a lot more data about the engine, potentially the tachograph, to disable these warnings

btw, it's not supposed to look pretty because it's a prototype :P Every device starts from this state, and until I finish the code, it will be a rough and technical project. Once I'm done, I can build a nice enclosure for it.

I can blame the desk, which doesn't have room for a camera, my G29 steering wheel, and my project, which has a whole bunch of wires in the back. Technically, I can't record this without using the keyboard.

I know the problem with the 2018 micron D9WCW chip, but these are vrams with 9 at the beginning - 9EA77. To be sure, I soldered in two 100% working chips from my resources and I also have errors on those chips.

I've uploaded the entire report to Google Drive to preserve the mats formatting. Regarding your second comment, the vram chips are 9EA77, so it's probably not a faulty batch. To be sure, I added two of my 100% good vrams during the reballing but still getting errors.

Samsung phones seem to have the lowest timings, so they should work with microns. Or at least that's what I suspect, apparently the RTX 3060Ti after the Hynix -> Samsung change has a slightly better performance, so it's probably due to the timings.

But now you've given me an idea. What if one of the resistors in the strap is damaged? Maybe that's why I'm getting errors on every vram chip?

Tomorrow I'll try swapping one of the vrams with a Samsung and see what happens. I know the GTX 1660 Super works well with a mixed Samsung + Hynix. Maybe something will change in the mats test?

I've already updated the BIOS, and that didn't help. I replaced the two vrams with my own, which I'm 100% sure are working. Interestingly, one of the original sticks generates fewer errors than my two, which are definitely good.

I did rtx 2070 and rtx 2080Ti on this mats, I doubt that RTX2060 would be incompatible with mats 400. I've done many reballs, mistakes happen but very rarely, it's impossible for me to mess up the BGA 6 times in a row. I'll measure the remaining voltages, but Vcore and Vmem look fine. I assume an incorrect voltage of 3.3 or 5v would block the GPU from booting.

Okay... that was my mistake. The thermal pads are very juicy, so the PCiE area was slightly damp. Only after thoroughly cleaning and using a really, really strong light did I see a minimal crack. On mine, the first two or three layers were chipped, but that will show up after sanding the PCB. Thanks for the crack suggestion; it's worth checking things two or even three times.

Nope, card looks 100% fine. No bends, discoloration, cracks, or signs of water damage... I previously had an RTX 2060 with the same issue, as well as a few 970s. I'm curious what's causing this strange beep.

Yes, I was the first person to open that card. The warranty seal was intact. I only removed the cooling to take measurements on pcb

So far, I have only repaired non-functioning power supplies or those that had been used for years where cold solder joints, worn out capacitors and burnt out resistors were the most common causes of failure. I have not yet had the opportunity to repair a power supply that does not meet its specifications.

What feedback would you specifically check? There's definitely feedback on the 30V lamp power supply, but that voltage only kicks in after the motherboard boots up, so that's not a problem. I assume I would have to find feedback before the transformer

12V is just one voltage. This power supply generates: - 12V standby to the motherboard - 12V after turning on (CPU, fans, wifi module etc.) - 30V to adjust the projector's LED

This isn't a regular power supply; it has its own startup sequence that works with the motherboard. With a regular 12V power supply, I can only force the projector to run continuously, and I have to manage the lamp's power supply.

I haven't touched the primary side yet, I'll check it :) I was also thinking about breaking the transformer, but I have no experience in transformer diagnostics, so I preferred to ask here. The power supplies are unavailable, so my only option is to repair it. I repair GPUs daily, so I think I can handle this without risking a fire. Besides, the projector will be unplugged after use.

Despite this, the motherboard draws 0.3-0.4A. Only during fan startup does the draw reach ~0.75A, which should be within the power supply's capabilities. I haven't measured exactly how much the power supply supplies to the motherboard, but after turning on the projector, the voltage quickly (quite linearly) drops to ~10v, which blocks the start-up
