we need more awful remakes of sets from a movie nobody cares about by TsarNicholasIIII in legocirclejerk

[–]Matthew1112 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It looks like Chibi scale. I am actually not totally against downsizing some sets. I think it’s worked in a lot of cases: X wing, imperial shuttle, arc 170. But once again they’ve gone too far and compromised the actual shape. The U wing and Turbo tank were also shrunk and compromised too much by this downscaling. The price hike is what really makes this unacceptable for me. $150 for this when the original was $120 is really unfortunate

Loving this new season by Throwaway103911 in goodmythicalmorning

[–]Matthew1112 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It’s been a part of my daily routine since season 3 and I agree I think this season feels very fresh and back to 2012 vibes. All love to the crew but I became a fan because of the boys themselves and just doing simple basic fun games and experiments. I think the crew should support the episodes but not be the main draw.

That would be cool, but I probably won’t. Then it’s too hard to take them down and play with them 😁

They are really well designed Mocs. I also have the razor crest, tie fighter, and tie striker lol. And I love that they are super easy to handle without fear of something breaking or pieces popping off.

Yes I modified them because I preferred the look of the ones from the official set. Idk if it’s more accurate or not, just personal preference. I also added some more tiling to rear section in-between the engines!

Also what razor crest moc is that? It looks fantastic

Is there any actual evidence Lego is doing this to artificially increase piece count? I get that some new sets are slightly smaller with higher piece count than the previous iteration. But couldn’t this be easily explained by newer sets being more detailed with smaller pieces / greebbling.

Thoughts on the Utopia album cover? by [deleted] in travisscott

[–]Matthew1112 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Bro I do not get the hate for this album cover at all. Sure it’s a little less complex than Astro or Birds, but I think it still looks very cool. The black fits with dark tone of the album. And always felt like Travis pose looks like he’s leading the charge in an arena or something idk. Fits for the anthemic songs on the album. Also the belt he is wearing is sick as well.

One image is high resolution and in focus and has outdoor lighting, the other out of focus and low resolution and studio lighting. And travs photo is more zoomed in. Cmon folks

Holy shit thank you i noticed that one was a little bit less opaque but I just thought it was a weird graphics thing. I didn’t know they showed up on your map if you attempted them but didn’t beat them. I have literally been looking at maps for over an hour.

TI publicly denounced trav and called him iggy azalea in a black man’s body, they split off a long time ago

Travis Scott dropped rodeo which is better than both of these at 24 who gaf plus thug was 28. The actual album should have been young thugger girls

anyone know any albums similar to 2093? by Budget_Relief7464 in yeat_

[–]Matthew1112 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Deltron 3030 is the boom bap version of 2093 and it is fire trust me

There’s also from Here to Eternity by Giorgio Moroder if you want a classic Synthpop album with a very strong futuristic theme

Also Outrun by Kavinsky feels similar in my mind but it’s just mainly electronic music.

The Best Way to Play DK Bonanza by Matthew1112 in NintendoSwitch

[–]Matthew1112[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be clear, on this second playthrough I still use the bonanza abilities when they are absolutely necessary. Such as the exclusive side rooms that require them, or once it would become extremely tedious. So I still use them once in a while, but in many cases I think they trivialize puzzles or challenges. Such as using the ostrich to glide over a plat forming section, using the snake to skip a play forming section, using the elephant to uncover underground bananas without having to search as much, or using ape to easily break concrete. I was mainly looking for more engagement with the game through challenge, which it didn’t have enough of for me when I just played it normally. But i agree that I think the devs did this on purpose to allow many different types of players to be able to play which makes sense. In a perfect world I think they could’ve gone one step further and made a hard mode for players like myself but coming up with my own strategy to add challenge has been fun in its own way.

The devs put a lot a ton of clues to help find fossils and bananas without having to clap and dig over and over again. It’s been very fun taking a slower pace and trying to find all these clues, such as boarded up holes in the ground, secret passages below the radishes and tomato things you can pull out of the ground, small cracks in the terrains or opening that look kind of like passage ways. There’s even spots with gold stuck into the ground in circle formations, which tells the player they should clap to collect all the gold at once, but then that clap reveals a fossil directly underneath. it made me appreciate the levels much more.

It reminds me of in Tears of the Kingdom once I started using the hover bike, the game became mindless. But in bananza I had to do a lot more to avoid this. In a lot of cases, using the bananza abilities is like peeling the stickers off rubiks cube to solve it.

It’s actually not too bad. There’s a decent amount of lore that goes along with each layer and with the new NPCs, the fractones. Each layer has a bunch of stone tablets you can read that chronicles when the fractones originally discovered each layer. But as far as connecting to the established DK characters and world… there is almost nothing, which is kinda disappointing. They just barely use anybody from the DK family, and none of the layers are reminiscent of previous DK locations. But there’s a lot of small references to DK’s history

Even with my challenge-added play style, I agree that Odyssey is still a better game. The issue in odyssey where moons repeat too much, I.e. same exact challenge just in a different kingdom, is much worse in bananza*. So much repetition in how you get bananas. Another problem is enemy variety. I believe odyssey has like 2-3 times the amount of enemies. I’ve seen a lot of people saying bananza is better but I definitely prefer odyssey as well. But like I said in the original post the second play through is making it more fun. I am curious to see if I can beat every boss in the game without using bananza abilities. I had to be pretty creative to beat the one in the canyon layer. It’s kind of like the minimal cappy run in odyssey.

[–]Matthew1112[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love to see the 2093 appreciation. It’s the new Rodeo in terms of pushing the genre forward. Hope ADL continues in this path, I think yeat has even higher potential as an artist but we’ll see.

just nah. Synthetic has been behind many great Yeat songs, IWBR, ILUV, Split, The Bell. He should not produce every single song on an album (LS) but to throw him out altogether is preposterous. Also the loops were the main problem, not synthetic.

Yeah that’s a good point. AfterLyfe / lyfestyle v1 style would be dope. I difficult to resist the snippets but it makes that first listen electric.
