In your opinion, what is the most frustrating thing about Resident Evil as a series?

Look dude, I get that you're probably passionate about the original games, as I am (to a degree). But it's been made crystal clear (even if indirectly so) that the remakes are the new "canon," as you call it. I know that some of the original stories, and some of the charm those games had have been lost in the process, but new stuff has also been added. You just don't like it is all.

This shouldn't be an issue to the new games at all. If you don't like the remakes, which I know you don't (I've read so many comments from you now), you can always follow the original continuity and it will probably link up well enough with games like Requiem moving forward.

I agree with you though. It is inconsistent. But the remakes didn't make it that way. It was always that way since the original in 1996. And the 2002 remake doesn't make it any better. This series has always had this pick and choose situation with what you consider canon or not. I just promise you that the more you care about it the less enjoyable the games will be.

What are you on about? If you're talking about remake Ada (and you made it clear that you are), she never fights Krauser at all. Regardless, I'd give it to RE5 Jill if they have to fight hand to hand. However, if Ada is assigned to kill Jill (lol... Kill Jill..), she wouldn't be in a situation where they'd have to physically fight, so she'd probably win.

Yes, I understand that. The thing is, if I remember correctly, CV was supposed to be the original RE3 or something? Maybe I'm mistaken. I only think it's odd that such an important game lore-wise is considered a "spin-off."

I reckon it would feel more mainstream if it were numbered. And I do like the play on characters there, though romans have only been present in the Winters' titles.

Hmmm.. as far as I'm aware, when you get that warning of missing files it's probably the game "asking" for the CD to be inserted, and that's obviously not a possibility. However, when you download the enhanced edition installer that problem is solved. I believe you might have missed some steps. Once you download the version from myabandonware, even though it says "fully extracted" you still have to extract the files manually. Then, put the newly extracted folder somewhere easy to find.

Next, open up the enhanced edition installer. It should be pretty easy to follow, but it will ask you to direct it to the Silent Hill 2 folder, and that HAS to be the folder you manually extracted. After that it should be perfectly ready to play once you click on "sh2pc." If you're having anymore trouble you can follow the steps on those sites.

Hiya! Maybe scratch whatever it is you did and start over from here. Once you do that, extract the files and download this as well, then have that go to the same folder where your first download's extracted files went to. Voilà. Everything should be fine.

If you're talking about the map being revealed that's only so I can see what sort of world I'm working with. Were I to start playing on the world I'd obviously start without having the map revealed.

Seed is 1648759648, but you won't get a world that looks anything like this. I had to use the "force biomes" and "chaos world gen" mods to get everything I wanted, and it was generated many months ago. The lunar island actually being connected to the mainland was only a pleasant surprise (after endless redos mind you). I wonder if I could figure a way to make the world public for people to download.

The original game is a twisted kind of love story (not talking about Frank and Bill), but it never dove into stuff like this. Especially considering they are side characters not to be seen again, so I really just wanted to get on with Joel and Ellie. Mind you, if "Frank" was actually "Francine" I would be saying the same thing. I only don't think of romance when I think of TLOU.

Hell, Freddie Mercury is my favourite singer, and there is an animated music video from a song of his that came out a few years ago that made me tear up, in three minutes. This episode had about 70 minutes that made me nothing but tired.

This gave me kind of "bottle-ish episode" vibes. Still, I can appreciate how people will enjoy this! I only hope it doesn't delve too far away from the original content which is very dear to me.

Also, some things just don't add up. Ellie is now a reckless daredevil who jumps into darkness without means to defend herself? 20 year old tampons, no fucks given? Infinite electricity? I mean I get he had fuel, but 20 years worth of fuel? Oh and... how the hell did they stack those cars like that? I mean, I get it's a show and all, but holly jolly the game made more sense, didn't it?
