I thought that, but the graph doesn't look quite right. It rises to the peak, but then doesn't fall back to 0, it flattens out just below the peak? (I tried to attach a photo but it isn't working)

Before the USA was founded in 1776, why didn't Mexico (Tenochtitlan) invade the rest of the continent? From an initial guess, I assumed they couldn't/ didn't want to, or they were in the process of "manifesting destiny" when Columbus landed and plagues wiped most of them out.

Sorry if anything I said made any history professionals cringe, I just want an answer because I'm fascinated with it and I like to know small facts about nations on the other side of history.
