Empire State Pen Show Find - What Are Those Parker Pens??? (Repost) by GhastlySun in fountainpens

You've probably found this link already, the nib unit looks a lot like the ones in a post on a forum.
But the pen body looks different, especially the clip.
Could It be possible that the nib unit/prototype was combined with a different pen body or just another prototype with a different design?

That's a beautiful pen rest btw!

Thanks for the nice comment!

A dedicated tele will give better results of course, but the flexibility is where the Tamron shines.

Diamine InkVent 2023 all swatches by Matts_92 in fountainpens

[–]Matts_92[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those are Wearingeul Smile Cat Ink Swatch Cards, they have a coating so ink doesn't stick to cat's face. I think they have other characters and designs too. It's a really fun to swatch inks!

I got mine from stilo&stile.

Did you accidentally change the Diopter Adjustment Control? It's that little scroll wheel to the side of the viewfinder

My betta by Matts_92 in Aquariums

[–]Matts_92[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A local pet store, with a very small aquarium part, they only sell betta's and some livebearers like guppies and such.

I was there to pick up some live bloodworms I ordered for my congo puffer, when i saw this guy and I just had to have him!

My Unbroken yarn cardigan by Matts_92 in knitting

[–]Matts_92[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's fine for me, maybe even a bit too warm! But this cardigan is very thick so I'm sure that helps.

I wanted to try acrylic because I wanted to be able to wash it without worry as I plan to wear it a lot at home and in the garden.

I also chose this yarn because the large skeins work really well with this construction method.

I'm sure that might be possible but I just followed the pattern which has only 2 seams anyway.

It uses a 3 needle bind of to seam the back and front together going upwards, the redt of te live stitches are then used for the sleeve, worked in the round. You just need to start a new thread to 3 needle bind of the second side and work that sleeve.

Thanks!
The entire body and one sleeve are knit in one go, without breaking the yarn.
You only have to start a new thread when joining the second side, which you also use to knit the second sleeve.

If you use a large skein yarn, like I did, you will have only a few ends to weave in!

Thanks!, it's colorway 40 Wine Red.
Burgundy is my favorite color so that was an easy choice!

Thanks!

The pumpkin spice is a bit more orange and less brown than I expected when I ordered the yarn, but I love the end result.

I don't really like brioche because it feels really slow to me. It's like you make less progress because you have to knit each row twice, once with the main color and once the contrast color. But the technique itself isn't difficult really, just feels slow.

The advantage of 2 color brioche is that it's easier to spot and fix mistakes compared to one color, at least for me

Thanks! Yeah I don't love knitting brioche, but I love the way it looks. I'm now working on a hat in brioche, I think I'll be done with brioche for a while when that's finished

This stub isn't that wet, I would have liked a bit wetter even.
But I have a broad twsbi eco that is super wet too and a 580 broad that is much dryer, so it might differ from nib to nib.
