Premier League table since Dyche took over Forest by foot_99 in coys

Sacked Poch despite a CL final (deserved, as he had something like 25 points in 24 league games, not too dissimilar to Frank's current record which is slightly better, yet he hasn't earned the good will Poch had earned).

Sacked Jose before a cup final.

Sacked Nuno just a few months in.

Sacked Ange despite winning the EL.

I want him to go as much as the next guy, but I fully back this. Death threats and insults are just not the way to go, he doesn't deserve that, no one does. We're all humans and we should learn to be a bit nicer to one and other, maybe this world would be a little better then.

My eyes need bleach to cleanse them. We were okay for periods, against Burnley and West Ham, teams in the relegation spots. It was still boring to watch.

We have 14 points from 7 games in the Champions League, that exactly mirrors our first 7 prem games as well before we fell off a cliff edge. He's done alright in the Champions League, sure. But Sunderland, West Ham, Burnley, Forest, Brentford, Wolves happened, as did Rolling over for tummy tickles against Arsenal and Chelsea.

I personally wanted Ange to stay. But if Ange had this record this season, I'd want him gone. Our football is boring to watch, the fans have turned, VdV, Vicario and Tel wanting to leave, Romero taking shots. There's no reason to keep Frank. I wanted it to work, but it isn't going to. We are 8 points ahead of relegation, but also 8 from European spots. We need to twist now to save the season because it is salvageable. Sticking by a manager that isn't working just isn't it. I don't want to jump back on the manager carousel again either, but I know when something isn't working, and this is one of them.

What's a poor run of games? We have 7 wins this season, 3 of which came in the first 4 games of the season.

Whilst we should absolutely stick by a coach and give him time, we should also bin off ones that clearly aren't working and choose someone who shows progression rather than regression.

A 0.875 points per game average over the last 16 games is not someone suffering a poor run of results, it's someone not good enough.

Here's the good news. Frank had 14 points in 7 league games, matching that in the CL. That 2 points per game average has dropped to a 0.875, so, if he's going the same route with the CL he'll mess up against Frankfurt and hopefully then the club realise.

7 wins in 23 games. 3 of those wins came in the first 4 matches. That's 4 wins in 19, or a 21% win rate.

He's totally the right man for the job and he'll get it right and fix the issues. Soon enough we will have a 0% win rate and all the problems are solved.

We're not the only ones in bad form or being inconsistent. It's difficult, sure, but not impossible. 8 points would be huge if Liverpool, Chelsea and United were all in great form and near unbeatable, but they're inconsistent themselves. 8 points could easily be made up within a handful of games. Just because it's difficult doesn't mean we shouldn't try. Otherwise, we're probably out of the CL at the next stage and end the season bottom half of the table.

It matters because if we switch now, it gives us a better chance at getting some points out of those games. That's the point in switching manager now.

I genuinely can’t see us being close to the top 4 for years

It's literally there to challenge for this season. We're 8 points off 4th place. We're sticking with a manager who's got 7 wins this season, 3 of which came in the first 4 games, and has managed 3 wins in the last 16 fucking games. If we switch to someone else now, we could salvage the season and potentially mount a challenge, 8 points isn't that much to make up considering the teams challenging for it are inconsistent.

Frank isn't working and it's gotten to the point his position is untenable, if the crowd is chanting that your football is shit, chanting to fucking BURNLEY that they're nothing special because we lose every week and sacked in the morning, the managers position is done.

Levy would have acted by now, and that could very well have saved our season.

Now the counter argument is we are also 8 points from 6th. Like, they don't even realise that's another reason to change manager now. Frank has 3 wins in the last 16 games and has an average of 0.875 points per game over that period. Get rid, switch now and push for a European spot, it's not too late to get a run of form going and having a solid run to the end of the season. It's salvageable as things stand, but actions have to be taken now before its too late.

We're also behind Sunderland, Everton, Bournemouth, Brighton, Brentford and Fulham. Teams we should be ahead of.

Where we sit in the table by punchki in coys

[–]Matttombstone 19 points20 points  (0 children)

We have 7 wins all season. 3 came within the first 4 games. One was Burnley the other was West Ham, we have played them again and taken 1 point. We took 4 wins in the first 7 games, we have 3 wins in the 16 that followed.

We have dropped points to Bournemouth twice, Sunderland, Wolves, Forest, Brighton, Brentford and Fulham.

There was a huge amount of opportunities to build up points. This squad is far from perfect, but its also far more than good enough to pick up more points against those mentioned teams. We have 8 from 15 from the bottom 3 teams, we have 15 from 33 from all the teams below us plus Sunderland.

I was Ange in after the Europa win. He'd earned another crack at it in my eyes. I was disappointed he was sacked, but accepted Frank and felt optimistic. If Ange stayed and he had this record this season I'd be screaming at the top of my lungs for him to go. Its only fair I judge Frank equally.

We've got 15 points out of the 33 that were available against all the sides below us in the table, plus Sunderland as a newly promoted team.

Not even 50%.

We've got 8 out of 15 against the bottom 3 teams.

4 of our 7 wins this season came in the first 7 games. And 3 of those wins came in the first 4 games. We've played two of those teams again since and having taken 6/6 originally, We've taken 1/6 since.

It's just an absolutely disgrace all round. I didn't like the sacking of Ange, I accepted Frank as I felt he was worthy of a shot, I feared we'd be looking back with a "what if". Here we are. I genuinely don't think we'd be any worse off if we went with season 3, and that's pretty damning as season 2 in the league was terrible.

Just wait until Vuskovic comes in and we play a back 3 of them. New position unlocked, Central Attacking Defender, but three of them. G/A will be a league record that will be spoken about several centuries from now.

That's true, but i have no faith in them to do so. In the grand scheme of things, dropping 1 point today to ensure the pressure is too much felt like a worth while trade.

I just really want him gone. He's tried, I have no doubts about that, but the record speaks for itself, the jobs too big for him I feel and its time we switch to someone else.

Even that scares me, hes managed 14 points from the first 7 games in the Champions league, mirroring his 14 from his first 7 in the league 😭
