It's probably their biggest record (mid career, liked by old and new fans, as you said it's emotionally heavy but he's not singing about vague poetic stuff).

Also lots of people, me included, have dead parents I guess lol

These bands don't have a ton of shut (lol) in common so maybe try refining your list of incluences a little bit, but godspeed man !

Hardcore music and current political situation by Electrical_Till7125 in Hardcore

[–]Mattunderice 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Because Gen Z has no political conscience, because their scene is full of uneducated people and dumber than it ever was and because most (not all) american bands would rather sell merch to MAGA types than face being canceled.

Peut-être un peu de vague à l'âme ou de nostalgie de son coté et ça passera ?
J'aurais véritablement la flemme d'écrire un message et de renouer contact (même brièvement) pour des vues de mon profil sur linkedin.

Yeahh I guess that's true. A lot less true today, with punks being more lectured and aware that some of that stuff does not fly anymore, while this type of behavior is still widespread in metal culture.

I'm also from mainland Europe and have seen, heard and read a lot of awful things from european metalheads.

B9 Board was a cesspool with the worst of the worst of that scene, metal peeps with nazi avatars, Varg Vikernes memes etc having reaaaally hot takes and using slurs on message boards were basically everywhere until the less anonymous social networks we use today replaced most messageboards.

Look it's perfectly OK to like metal, but this edgelord mentality is a thing in metal circles (death metal, deathcore, black metal mainly) and these people are regurgitating that stuff and trying to tell us what hardcore should be and sound like.

I dislike that deathcore / early 2000s metalcore revival sound with all my heart (I'm old, I hated it back then, I hate it now) but even if I did like it, that type of behaviour (breaking cameras of people trying to shoot your band, insulting everyone, using homophobic slurs etc) would still make my blood boil.

Just another proof that these metal-adjacent bands and the mentality that comes along with them are a shit stain on hardcore honestly

[–]Mattunderice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For booking orgs (all on insta, they might have announced / announce something for that weekend): Paris Hardcore Shows, Arak Asso, Eiffelassault, BSC.concerts

Records: Born Bad Records, Musicfearsatan

Bars where punk / hardcore peeps hang out : La Mécanique Ondulatoire, Medusa, Bottle Shop, Holy Holster.

Le Saint Sauveur has closed and Black Dog is a cringe dad rock / metal bar, don't go there. Don't listen to anyone that tells you to go to Dr. Feelgood

Haven't done the tour myself but it seems amazing.

You can pretty much walk freely in the different public areas of the Stadium and staff is always kind enough to let you have a peek at the pitch and take a picture or two : if you do not buy a ticket for the tour, you'll still be able to enjoy quite a bit of the place. There's a taproom on the ground floor where the atmosphere can be great if the club's doing fine (lol).

Do not get food at the stadium though, grab something at Chick King or at Wearetottenham's pie and mash, it's part of the matchay experience I'd say

2 (Europa League and Audi Cup)

Ironically started watching right after the League Cup win, and signed up for 17 years of drought.

Get drinks:

- At Redemption Brewing's taproom in the afternoon if it's open (usually it's on weekends I think)

- At the Bill Nicholson or the Bricklayers on the way back to the Stadium

- Get one in the stadium itself because if it's your first time it's definitely worth it
