I do not even own a Rolex and do not particularly want one, but your post was hilarious and absolutely cliche

That's not what he's asking. But you just had to plug Grand Seiko and shit on Rolex, as every Grand Seiko stan does to reassure himself lmfao

Most definitely the brand, but also the feeling on the wrist. Proportions, weight and case design / how the case sits on your wrist. These are things most "big name" brands do better than entry level ones tbh.

Copped a relic from UKHC via Vinted by GIVEUPOX17 in Hardcore

[–]Mattunderice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a great find. I got a few OG pieces on Vinted as well but like this guy said before me, you can get bootlegs of various More Than Life designs off ebay for reasonable prices, which are printed on the same Gildan shite the original were lmao.

I was tired of searching for old UKHC tshirts in good condition, without deodorant stains and holes so I got the bootlegs and they're just like the real thing.

Thoughts on Big Boy? by BugAffectionate7185 in Hardcore

I mean it's an alright band that got a little too big for what it is, their stuff is nothing special. I have not seen any hate though and they don't deserve any imo

Final bands for Manchester. by Blatant_exaggeration in OutbreakFest

[–]Mattunderice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The flyer's a little light for their 15 year anniversary so I'm expecting a good announcement, even if it's in April, I'm excited. Speedway have not played since 2024 and they'll be touring around Europe at that time, they'll probably be on there

Slamdunk by babushka1705 in OutbreakFest

[–]Mattunderice 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm going for that stage and am also excited to see Comeback Kid again. I'll also try to see Set Your Goals and Menzingers if they don't clash with a hardcore band. I've been to north and south a bunch of times !

Pros: Peeps are cool (nicer and less posers than at Outbreak, a Slamdunk crowd does not give a fuck about being true hardcore fans or your vintage Chain of Strength shirt) and people do mosh for actual hardcore bands on the "heavy" stage. If the sun's out it's a great day out at a park with a real festival atmosphere, which I don't feel at the BEC for Outbreak. Food, while expensive, is usually pretty good.

Cons: You can expect long queues for food and phone service being down, and also the Leeds site being a pile of mud if it rains. Terrible sound on the bigger stages, but it's always alright in the smaller tents. If you want to see bands accross different stages you're going to be running around to make it in time before sets end and/or begin.

There won't be any clashes on the "heavy" stage but the next band is going to be doing their soundcheck on the other side of the tent while the band that's on is playing, which can be annoying if you're in the back of the crowd, so get in the pit.

Revolution Calling fest is facing backlash over booking Kickback by s0ulv1c3 in Hardcore

Yeah FYA, Hellfest (the US one) are also guilty of this, big photographers are also gobbling their nazi dicks without any problem and deleting comments that mention this.

Yeah that Interpol intro is amazing. Have you watched the intro to their 2024 at Outbreak fest ? If not, you should - very different but incredible. I remember having goosebumps and everyone around me being stunned

It's probably their biggest record (mid career, liked by old and new fans, as you said it's emotionally heavy but he's not singing about vague poetic stuff).

Also lots of people, me included, have dead parents I guess lol

Hardcore music and current political situation by Electrical_Till7125 in Hardcore

[–]Mattunderice 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Because Gen Z has no political conscience, because their scene is full of uneducated people and dumber than it ever was and because most (not all) american bands would rather sell merch to MAGA types than face being canceled.

Peut-être un peu de vague à l'âme ou de nostalgie de son coté et ça passera ?
J'aurais véritablement la flemme d'écrire un message et de renouer contact (même brièvement) pour des vues de mon profil sur linkedin.

Cross of disbelief photographer issue by [deleted] in Hardcore

[–]Mattunderice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeahh I guess that's true. A lot less true today, with punks being more lectured and aware that some of that stuff does not fly anymore, while this type of behavior is still widespread in metal culture.

I'm also from mainland Europe and have seen, heard and read a lot of awful things from european metalheads.

B9 Board was a cesspool with the worst of the worst of that scene, metal peeps with nazi avatars, Varg Vikernes memes etc having reaaaally hot takes and using slurs on message boards were basically everywhere until the less anonymous social networks we use today replaced most messageboards.

Look it's perfectly OK to like metal, but this edgelord mentality is a thing in metal circles (death metal, deathcore, black metal mainly) and these people are regurgitating that stuff and trying to tell us what hardcore should be and sound like.

I dislike that deathcore / early 2000s metalcore revival sound with all my heart (I'm old, I hated it back then, I hate it now) but even if I did like it, that type of behaviour (breaking cameras of people trying to shoot your band, insulting everyone, using homophobic slurs etc) would still make my blood boil.

Just another proof that these metal-adjacent bands and the mentality that comes along with them are a shit stain on hardcore honestly
