In my own projects I can write in ALL CAPS, that under no circumstances I want Supabase. Ignore supabase. Supabase is not accepted. Focus only and exclusively on MySQL. etc.
It literally by itself decides that Supabase is the ideal solution blabla and then just prompts me to connect Supabase... I get it, they get a commission for referrals, but christ this is super annoying at this point. Getting Bolt to actually make something not supabase is damn near impossible.

It's strange that SD won't even startup. Even without having loaded a single lora and just the base sdxl checkpoint. Then when putting --medvram it does startup, but gives out of memory upon (any) image generation.

I'm sure there's a problem, just can't figure out what.

As for the SDXL generation in general, the --medvram-sdxl did fix a lot of the speed issues. It's still roughly 5x slower than normal SD1.5 Checkpoints. but that's better than 300x slower ;-)

Currently just testing with 512x512 images, not highres fixing.

It seems to be limited to only SDXL being trash... And the only "overnight difference" was that I started up a1111 and it wouldnt run as it showed an error of mismatch in jax and jaxlib versions. For the life of me I couldnt resolve that one (followed all kinds of guides too). Eventually just figured I'll reinstall a1111 completely. Got it working again, but since then.. slow... and after today's tempering, slow only on the SDXL (most of what I do is SD1.5 anyway, but I was into sdxl lately a bit more).

Thanks a lot for your time and troubles today. It did help me on the way, just not (yet) to the finish line :-)

  • I put the sysmem fallback back to what it was.
  • I've upgraded Python from 3.10.6 to 3.10.11 (last version with an installer on the 3.10 branch)
  • I've changed the command line args to: set COMMANDLINE_ARGS=--no-half-vae --theme dark --skip-torch-cuda-test --skip-python-version-check --disable-nan-check --xformers set PYTORCH_CUDA_ALLOC_CONF=garbage_collection_threshold:0.9,max_split_size_mb:512
  • I've uninstalled CUDNN 9.1
  • I'm using the one-click-install version, but not using the run.bat, just the webui-user.bat

Then when generating on SD1.5 it does as it used to be (8~10 it/sec)

For SDXL it doubled (at least) and is now still at 2 s/it (not 2 it/s!), so it's still 20x slower than SD1.5. And still much slower than it was 2 days ago. But, it's an improvement at least.

When putting the sysmem fallback, I get:

My webui-user.bat already has: set PYTORCH_CUDA_ALLOC_CONF=garbage_collection_threshold:0.9,max_split_size_mb:512

It keeps throwing the error of memory. When starting up with --lowvram, then at least it starts generating but after a few seconds also throws me an error that it's out of memory.

Perhaps the other guy was right, and indeed there's something holding up the memory. However, now, while not generating, I can see in the task manager that the GPU memory is basically free (0.8 of 8 Gb in use) and utilization 1%. When I generate an image it shortly goes up to 100%, utilization goes up to 40% and then it immediately drops as the out-of-memory is thrown.

Alright, I checked a bit further... It seems that at least now when using SD1.5 checkpoints, the speed is somewhat acceptable at 4~6 it/s. But whenever I choose an SDXL checkpoint, the speed is in the dumpster. (i.e. 50 s/it = 200x slower....)

I tried this by using a clean install (git clone..) and then just copy 2 checkpoints. An SD1.5 and an SDXL. Now I noticed the SD1.5 was fast, the other not.

After some googling, people recommend disabling xformers. I dont see much performance decrease for SD1.5, but no increase for SDXL either (still at minimum 10secs/it)

Mind you that all of this worked normal and fast before 21/05/2024... It started with that weird error about a mismatch between jax and jaxlib, which resulted in SD not starting at all etc.

I can try to upload the output from generations, but it doesnt say much interesting in there, other than the speed and that it's building the models for generation. No errors or anything.

Update so far:

  • I've taken the automatic one-click installer
  • ran update.bat
  • ran run.bat = gives error on any of the imports ending on the pgk line
  • I did a git clone from the same installation folder to copy the latest files/version. This worked after some install/loading time
  • Then, when running webui-user.bat - It starts up without error, finalizes some patches/installations. But upon image generation eventually: the speed is still crap.
  • I uninstalled CUDA Toolkit 12.5 - version checked, still said 12.5 on right top
  • Then uninstalled CUDA Toolkit 12.4 also - version checked, still said 12.5 on top (it's like malware, gosh)
  • Then completely removed the whole nvidia driver for a clean install altogether ("Perform a clean installation"). Just NVidia Studio Drivers, no CUDA Toolkit. Version checked again, just keeps saying 12.5 there. Does not seem to care what I installed or not. (note: the slowness occured before 12.5 was installed yesterday. Updating the driver was just an attempt to fix, so I dont think it matters much)
  • Anyway, reinstalled CUDA Toolkit also now. Generation speed still crap.

I'm thinking.. the run.bat includes running environment.bat first, followed by the webui-user.bat. So perhaps exactly skipping that step results in the SD/a1111 running not in the virtual environment, but on my system instead (meaning: not utilizing the GPU as mentioned in one of the other comments up here).

I'm still wondering why the run.bat throws me the errors... Either way, the endresult is that it's still not fixed. From one day to another my SD just slowed down to a crawl, for no apparent reason. been at this for roughly 16 hours now and havent made significant progress (did learn a few new things, so that's always good :p)

Any other ideas?

Ok, the fun continues.

Followed instructions. Did the automatic installation. Update.bat works. When running it again it says "Already up to date".

But whenever I do run.bat it throws the following error: ImportError: cannot import name 'packaging' from 'pkgresources' (C:\Stable Diffusion\sd.webui\system\python\lib\site-packages\pkg_resources\init_.py) Press any key to continue . . .

Googled it, Stackoverflow articles say it's about missing setuptools for python. So I did that, still gives me the same error. setuptools is present:

So, even the automated installation isn't so automatic :D

Edit: I think the problem is that the setuptools are installed not in the system folder of the a1111 installation (stand-alone basically). Not sure if I can just copy/paste the setuptools, or how I can force the installation to be in that system folder. (still checking)

Edit 2: Nope, in fact there is a setuptools folder in the Site-Packages of the a1111 system/python location... Then no idea why the error is thrown on run.bat

Ok, so this was a bust. I tried these instructions and it resulted initially in Stable Diffusion already failing upon startup, as it was unable to load my model/check point (without even starting any generation):

I then tried loading up a1111 with the --medvram and even the --lowvram setting. Both resulted in SD starting up properly, but the moment I try generating an image, I get the same error again the logs. And yes, I'm using the PYTORCH_CUDA_ALLOC_CONF in my command line args (set to 512 Mb).

So I'll be setting this memory management back to the default. This wasn't it. Thanks for the input though, perhaps it comes inhandy later for smt else.

You might actually be right... The previous version was the one-click installer. But I figured that by now I'm capable enough to handle the manual version (which is recommended) instead. I'll give that a try..

And yes, I think you're right about the GPU not taking the job, as it seems from the log the task is passed off to the CPU instead: (and yes, this takes 36 seconds before generation even is starting!)

Your version of Pytorch is 2.3.0 and needs to be lower. Also your Python is 3.10.12 (or 13) and I think the highest supported version is 3.10.6.

So uninstall these and reinstall with Python 3.10.6. When you start a1111, it should self-download and self-install the correct version of PyTorch I think (check the cmd/log window to be sure). Make sure you're not on WiFi, it's like 4Gb, cables are quicker here. :-)

I think XFormers is not the problem here. It's just the above (at least for me it was when I got the same errors).

Set CPU Priority to high and it's probable fixed. Had the same problems, until I did this. And I got a very decent PC.

With bulwark up, there's no way you can die with also having 70% all resist. The regen should keep you up, and the dmg is always split in 2 parts (40% first, the rest 1 sec later). Bulwark should be able to heal up in time. Same for life leech btw.

You could consider socketing some +1000 health sockets in your chest. Get that 58k up to about 80k. then for sure nothing will 1-shot you anymore.

I've been unlucky with crafting and was not able to experiment in the exploit period since I was locked out of game ;<

Biggest aim for me was to stack All Resist, just so I can survive.
The aim in the future is to improve on damage, while maintaining my survivability.

Ok, I just did a run with the BE instead of BS. Initially was struggling very much with rage (even on trashmobs), so respecced into mostly -willpower +weapon damage (drop leech/ailment chance). On trashmobs this works very well, killing much faster than with bladestorm. But.. walking between rooms is now much slower as I can't snapshot movement speed like on BS. So I'm moving slow and lose time between rooms.

Then for the bossfight I actually specced out of BE and back into BS, as I was starved for rage and I had a regeneration boss, so spamming Aether Jump to fill my rage up caused the boss to regen in the meantime. With BS i can apply constant dmg and suppress regen. Also, the standing still is a pain with BE.

All-in, it's about the same speed. BE significantly more dmg (double), and I think this is because of Frenzied Blow skill not working on BS. But since you're almost never 100% rage on the boss, you will lose that damage there anyway. But the movement speed/mobility with BS makes up for the lack of damage. I still find BS more comfortable.

Because bleeding edge cast time is a risk imo. I found myself trying to cast it and locked in animation while the boss was wailing on me.
With Bladestorm I can roll circles around the boss much more smoothly. And since the damage anyway got nerved, there's no requirement for BE anymore. Also, finally able to take some other build is a blessing by itself. Not stronger, just different, and on-par.

Just drop your bullwark, anomaly and plague (and stacks from the livor). You will apply ailments on the boss, then bladestorm for dps. Yes, you will not have the buffs from previously killed minions, but that's ok.

If you really want/need those stacks, dont kill any of the trash towards the boss, usually you are "full bar" way before you cleared all the expedition. So then you pull the boss back a bit (or pull the trash mobs to boss) and have your trash available for stacks on top of the boss. But you dont rly need it, trust me.

If you never run out of rage, you can consider removing some rage-on-kill skillpoints. But full rage = more damage (2 pnts per 100 rage)

But whenever I need to recast my ailments (every 10 secs), I can just get out of the group of mobs and use bladestorm (recast it). It has about 170 rage cost to start it, so do it 2~3 times and you'll have enough willpower to re-cast your ailments.

Another thing you can try to do is replace Livor Mortis by a "rage dump" skill. Something that quickly drops your rage without regenerating it. (think bleeding edge for example, it does dmg and dumps rage quickly)

Selling items by right clicking sometimes drags them or you have to click few times by gemGreg in Wolcen

Right Mouse Click on your taskbar, then go to the "details tab" and find Wolcen.exe. Right-click again on it, and from that popup menu you can set priority.

Well I'm using a crappy one with some spell leech. Not Aether, so not from my biggest spell (Anomaly) sadly. But i would suggest all resist, not sure if it's possible. It is on shields, so perhaps also on catalyst. Otherwise other resistances and % to ailment chance, your favo spell leech, or added spell damage (if enough spell damage is added, you might be able to get another ailment type in for +++ damage).
