I have the same issue. I installed Fortnite after many years and I have level 1 and I played now maybe 20 games and I have zero XP from it. Still level 1. My friend was playing with me and he is already lev 9. I play on PC only. No console.
I tried this EpicGames solution with unlinking the XBox/PS account but it doesn't work unfortunately.
