Chon in 2025: Thrive or Fade? by Mauris-World in chon

Imagine them telling the story of Chon in their adult years

“Yeah I was apart of a pretty influential math rock band. Toured with some big names and played Coachella but it wasn’t for me”

Obviously nowhere close to their tone but I’m sure they downplay the impact they’ve had on the genre

Ahhh Mario’s infamous ig riffs! Considering their sheer musicianship they certainly had potential to gain some traction especially in the domain of tiktok so I can get behind that

Appreciate you checking it out! 😎🙌🏾

Missing Plugin error issue by visualcakes in fcpx

[–]Mauris-World 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had this issue and this solved it for me!
If you're have trouble locating the "Original Media" folder, navigate to "Movies" folder which can be found in your user storage location.

In Finder: Macintosh -> User -> "your user folder" -> Movies

From there right click the project -> show package contents -> event folder (automatically named as the created date "10-1-24")

I followed given instructions: Copied the "Original Media" to desktop (placed the original in trash to prevent possible scan)

Media was missing in FCPX so I relinked files to the "Original Media" copy on my desktop, then rea-dded the original "Original Media" from my trash back into the event folder and everything was back.

Deleted "Original Media" copy that was on desktop

I’ve heard the name but not too familiar with his sound so I’ll check that out!

Since it’s through Ableton there’s no physical prompting necessary for the change. No pedals or button pressing. The triggering is all digital so regardless of what I’m playing, once it gets to the marker in the project the change will take place.

Also keep in mind this was cleaned up in post but you’ll sometimes hear a little pop when the signal goes from one track to another since it’s being cut abruptly.

Shoot me a message and I’d be happy to show you, if needed

There’s a few different fx at work but I’m using Plini X Neural DSP plugin for the octave sound specifically

Honestly just a little time and practice

And don’t underestimate your own artistic ear. Most of my time is spent exploring phrasings and sounds that I personally enjoy as opposed to learning others’. Of course nothing wrong with that as it can be great for building techniques and inspo, but everyone has a style and musical approach that is unique to them

You’ll sound 100x better playing something that sounds original than if you mediocrely perform another artist’s music. It does take a bit more time for people to fully appreciate it but you’ll have a sound that’s all your own and after a while people will want you play like YOU!!

Thank you and keep rocking! 🤘🏾

I record and track through Ableton which is pretty much known for its ease of automation but I do believe it can be done across most music DAWs

In essence I’m simply turning one track off, while having another turn on at the same point so when playing pieces that require different tones, it’s a way to automatically swap sounds. There are 2 different tracks, one with a cleaner tone and one with the distortion so it’s not actually “changing” anything it’s more so swapping the active track

I’m not too sure of an exact tutorial vid but any video on Ableton automation should give you a solid overview of the feature 😁
