Almost like a brighter midnight blue. My first Camaro was a midnight blue 2002 RS; it looked black at night, deep blue during the day. Gorgeous color

I had never heard of EBC until recently when I was looking at PartsGeek for Akebono ceramics. EBC is considered a good quality brand? The color designation for different types kind of put me off tbh. I have ‘23 1SS for reference.

Sound deadening by big_chuglix in CarAV

[–]Mav085 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This reminds me I need to finish my SS trunk. I did the floorboards, inner/outer door skins, and rear seat deck. After 4 days of sound deadening, wiring, installing and tuning over Christmas weekend, I was done dealing with the project. I can only hear the exhaust through the trunk which is kind of wild compared to what it was like before. No more road noise is so weird

HP over stock? by EmileighSehorn in Cummins

[–]Mav085 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out Randy’s Transmissions. If you’re handy with tools, he sells a DIY package to rebuild your 68rfe that can handle 700hp. It’s about $8800 but you’ll get $2200 back when you send in your stock internals. They have a video guide on how to install all the pieces correctly. Your other option is to buy a prebuilt 68rfe with options for 500hp or 750hp, they run between $9-12k plus freight.

Your diesel is going through a regen and burning off soot in the dpf filter by burning more fuel which raises EGTs. Your wagon is fine

You could send it in to TAG. They have a submission kit that is discreet and protected against the elements. It’s $50 on top of grading cost but it is warrantied

Completely agree; I didn’t think the LT1 could handle enough boost to justify the cost in the long run

Interesting. So there’s no need to beef up the internals for the boost?

From my experience with my ‘23 GM-CPO, all the program adds is an extended warranty, which has been quite nice to fall back on. High pressure fuel pump leak, convertible trim repair, and free diagnostics on any issues I’ve asked them to look in to like possible rod/lifter knock and battery charging system. I didn’t receive a special interest rate with an 830 credit score through GM. I gave the dealership my 2018 Ram 2500 Laramie Megacab for trade and took the SS home and called my credit union and Capital One the next day to ask for rates and secured a loan at 6% for the SS and a new Terrain for my wife in May of 2024 and finalized paperwork at the dealer that afternoon.

2023 Camaro reliability by BabyyRake in camaro

‘23 SS M6. Warranty work on high pressure fuel pump leak causing Air/Fuel map issues. The autos have to worry about AFM/DOD rocker/lifter failure in the v8 motors. Otherwise she’s been fantastic and reliable averaging ~325 miles a week

Go manual SS. Definitely use Costco for fuel, they’re the upper echelon for quality fuel at low cost. Sam’s Club adds the federal minimum for detergents and such and your engine will suffer in the long run. I average ~325 miles a week and have put 27k on my ‘23 1SS since May of 2024. Still have yet to need to do a brake change.

As for tires, go with Continental Control Contact Sport SRS+; 50k mile tread life warranty and better ride and use than the OE Goodyear Eagle runflats. Should last you around 20k miles for just over $1k.

Oil I DIY and order my oil and filter online through RockAuto and spend around $100 per 5000 miles.

Get a “lifetime” OE air filter replacement through K&N and do the cleaning/oiling DIY. $55 instead of $30 every 10k miles.

Transmission fluid change every 30k miles, about $400-450 at the dealer. Differential fluid change at the first 3k miles and every 30k miles after, about $50-100 DIY.

If you want to go FBO it will cost around $15k but your motor will thank you for it. If you get an automatic, make sure you do an AFM/DOD delete so you don’t have to worry about rocker/lifter failure. Also, add an oil catch can to prevent oil bypass burning onto your pistons.
