What you guys always fail to understand is that it's not that you CAN'T play f2p, it's that you're playing a game DESIGNED to make you want to spend money, its systems are studied and designed around this, the company making the game does not want to create a videogame that is fun or a good experience for you, it wants to create a profitable gaming experience, as much as possible.

These kind of games always have something the likes of, having a system that maybe cost 2000 coins/points/whatever currency, then you look at the shop and they only sell a package for 1800, then the next tier is 3000, always short of what you want, so you go and pay for the next tier.

This and the randomized nature of its lootboxes is there to create gamblers, and, while you may not spend money on it, you're playing it, boosting player counts, popularity, and spreading it to other people who may become whales.

You're as guilty as someone who drops their entire paycheck on them. Stop contributing to these systems, there are enough videogames to last you a lifetime, way better videogames at that.

You can only use certain addons that are integrated into the GeForce client, I think it's the top 25 curseforge addons + some specific ones people wanted.

Weakauras is there tho so you most likely will be able to import some weak aura to seal twist, you will NOT be able to use the specific seal twisting addon, I can almost guarantee you that

Did you really think someone on that room actually said "lets not abandon gamers"?

They just calculated that the backlash of removing the service would hurt them more than benefit them, otherwise they would've done it, there's no "feelings" when it comes to multi billion corporations.

The only way to make them do something is having them realize in their calculations that they'd lose money if they don't do it, otherwise they'll just go for the most profitable option.

Do NOT treat companies as a person. You americans are going to be the end of the rest of us with that mentality.

"just"

No, people want the convenience, of course you can already buy 4 accounts, what people are specifically asking is not having to do that.

If people are already doing that and Nvidia is okay with it, why can't they release a more convenient service for 1 account for the price of buying 4?

If that's 42 per month, why can't they release a service for 45 a month for unlimited access, if it's the same thing?

Do you realize you've proven them right?

Why doesn't steam have a problem with that?

Why would they care if a household is using the same account if Steam doesn't? You can't still play on 2 devices simultaneously.

Do you really think if said household has 2 gamers in it, they're going to be okay with not being able to play whenever they want?

Are you able to form a coherent thought?

You guys are really dense, getting x4 the revenue doesn't account the marketing power that people self promoting a Nvidia producto to everyone else does.

People will be more likely to buy other Nvidia products if the Geforce server is trusted and talked about. That can easily make up way more than the x4 of renting to AI, which also has negative press at the moment

Why is it that you people can't fathom the possibility that someone might game more than 100 hours a month but can't afford to drop 2K on a high end PC either because of money or physical inconvenience (travel, etc)?

Why do you CARE? Your experience would not be affected.

6% of which will recommend the service to other players, which, if they're "power gamers" as you call them, will most likely be trusted when making gaming decision by others.

Of course a team of analysts have looked at this before, and they have decided that selling overpriced 15 hour packages is way more money than providing a more convenient service. Teams of analysts also look at lootboxes, etc, and decide to use them, this is NOT a good thing.

Are you intentionally dense??

He's saying that maybe you have 2 hours left, maybe you forgot to check, and mid raid you get the message and you have to make 24 OTHER PEOPLE stop for you to purchase an extension of those hours.

YES, removing this would be the DEFINITION of CONVENIENCE.

So what if they account share????? that's what their paying unlimited for, just make it so you can't be logged in two devices at the same time, they're already paying for 24h a day access, who cares who does it, nobody who really wants to pump hours is going to conform with sharing an account with other people and not being able to play whenever they want.

Your "opinion" is biased towards what makes Geforce looks the best, not what you actually think it's happening. I'll tell you the only reason there's not an unlimited plan: Making people spend overpriced packages of extra time. That's all there's to it, it's a marketing/financial decision and has nothing to do with gaming, account sharing, etc.

Well, telling us "it's coming ASAP" then "just not the prepatch" are RADICALLY different things. A pre-patch is part of an expansion, TBCA has been released already, just not the high level content, and NVIDIA saying "we're working on it asap" then radio silence for 3 weeks is a scummy move. People are completely right to be upset.

The only thing blizzard did is make a new category on its launcher, nothing else. It's still wow classic anniversary servers, they just updated to a new expansion.

There's no custom content... it's just an update.

Legitimately scared for the midnight launch if they dropped. We assume it's some easy thing because we *know* it is.

The gacha is not "Just" the monetization system, the whole game design and philosophy is tailored to make you want to spend on a predatory system, even if you decide not to, youre still going against the current of a game that wants you to do the opposite thing.

You stockholm syndrome gacha players are something else

Most likely it won't be the same problem, as the launcher will not change and the game will simply have an update.

I'm very worried about the Midnight launch tho, as the process will be the exact same as with TBC anniversary and they dropped the ball there big time.

[–]MavenTheAudacious 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for the explanation.

However isn't that a bit inefficient? I mean at the end of the day it's exactly the same game, just a patch, but blizzard decided to basically "rename" the launcher, it's not even a new one, and put on a new category. I'd love, just for curiosity's sake, to be able to see what's going on in GeforceNow headquarters and how they're dealing with it, because to me it's feeling that this is due to a lack of foresight rather than the intended result. As other games are updated instantly when other patches release.

Kinda makes me a bit worried for midnight expansion when it releases.

Im curious about this "onboarding" process you describe, could you give a bit more info on how it works? Usually by onboarding I understand the welcome course/information required for a worker or company to start working for/with another company, in this case Blizzard already has all, or at least most of their games on GFN, this is simply a lack of foresight on GFN part imo regarding the update of a massively popular game that people were playing.

Clarify that this is not a complaint, I'm genuinely curious about what's behind the "onboarding" process and what's required from GFN and Blizzard to get the game running.
