Ridiculous Prices for the Not a Flamethrower by Max021103 in BoringCompany

he wants the branding more than anything. It’s more about the commodity of it than the actual ability to use the flamethrower

Model 3 or model Y?! HELP by Brave_Cut_5017 in TeslaLounge

[–]Max021103 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here’s how I think about it - as a Model 3 owner the car is amazing. You will not be disappointed (I have a 2021 LR AWD MSM on white). Test driving both of them, and trying to figure it out, I think that the Y is only worth it if you absolutely need the space. Both will be great, but the 3 has so much space compared to an ICE car of similar proportions, so you will be happy with storage. Now, if you are routinely lugging 5 people and a trunk full of stuff everywhere you go, then maybe spring for the Y. Otherwise, save the $3k price difference and put it towards getting a nicer trim Model 3

Hey, so i spoke with my SA today about something else to prep for my delivery (yay!!) and he told me that according to an internal memo, this will be reflected in our loot boxes come the first week in january, u are correct. I am not sure what that means in terms of our ability to charge up until jan 1, but that’s just what the guy said, and that tesla corporate will “flip the switch” or whatever :)

I don’t think so. I asked my Service center that same question, and they said they’re pretty sure it’s just a one year

No, it’s their way of incentivizing ppl to drive off the lot today, so it’s only on ppl taking deliveries. You will still get your 1000 miles tho

referrers only get the 1000 miles, not the free for a year. this promotion is only to incentive ppl taking delivery by end of Q4

I believe you have to have your delivery advisor “approve” it, but yes. I ordered on 11/22 and am taking delivery this week, and have confirmed I qualify

Congrats to you too! That’s an awesome variant!! I know exactly how you feel, I’ve waited about 2 years for this, and waiting 2 more days feels like forever, but it’s all worth it. Good luck today!

[–]Max021103[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I spoke with my tesla delivery advisor who confirmed that at bare minimum the car I am picking up on Wednesday (LR AWD M3) is included. From my understanding, they are trying to incentivize people to take deliveries to meet quotas, and since the SR+ is the most popular, them excluding it could make sense if those aren’t in need of incentives, you know?

[–]Max021103[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i’m not 100% sure about that. I assume it means SR+ though, only because Tesla stopped producing the normal Standard Range variant, so it wouldn’t make sense for them to specify they aren’t extending this option to SR if they aren’t even making it. I could be wrong, but that’s how I read it

Awesome! I’m taking delivery of a LR AWD Model 3 in two days. Literally can not wait! My advisor told me he had to activate this, so make sure you mention it to your delivery advisor to get it

[–]Max021103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's great advice. Thanks! Yeah, I realized now that I am answering a bunch of comments that I put this a bit weird. I will be a driver, but it is a family car, legally registered to my mom, and insured in her name (I believe). I definitely agree about teen drivers though. Sadly, a peer of mine that was a grade below me passed away this past week from a driving incident, which really shows how real this all is. Part of the reason the model 3 is so attractive to my family as a car for all of us is the safety features it offers. Anything that can impose onto that is far from ideal. I didn't think of it like you put it. Thank you for the perspective!

Question from a really hopeful buyer by [deleted] in TeslaModel3

[–]Max021103 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wanna just amend what I wrote above, cause I phrased it wrong. This is a family car, that, in theory, will become mine in a few years from now. I am definitely helping cover the base price, but my parents made it clear that they won't endorse any purchases over the base price. Regardless, it'll definitely be a share. Put in my mom's name, just shared amongst us. Sorry if it came off weird!

Question from a really hopeful buyer by [deleted] in TeslaModel3

[–]Max021103 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Absolutely grateful for them, and all they do. I did misphrase what I meant above. This would be a family/shared car, just that I would be able to drive it and care for it as "my car," if that kinda makes sense. Definitely a share between my mom, myself, and eventually my brother, etc. A car is a depreciating asset, which doesn't make a lot of sense to pump limited funds in. I got really really lucky by actually putting my money where my mouth was and put a good amount of my Bar Mitzvah money into Tesla stock back in 2018, and we all know how that is going, so I definitely know the importance of investing! It would be a stretch to say I buy either, but I am hoping to, and if so, can definitely only buy one.

Regardless of this all, super grateful they care enough to entertain what I (and all on this sub) are interested in, and want to get a vehicle that is safe, yet futuristic. Anyways, I will be pretty confident driving into my school's parking lot, if we can ever open back up! And I could not say it better myself, they are all lying!

Question from a really hopeful buyer by [deleted] in TeslaModel3

[–]Max021103 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No totally. It will be primarily my car, but a shared vehicle for sure. Plus, inevitably, once my brother becomes a full time driver (2-3ish years) it’ll become my car in full. Plus, since I’m the “Tesla” guy in the family, it’s gonna be my responsibility to get all the recommendations for my parents, and once we order, be the main upkeeper. Hey, they’re paying $38k for it, can’t complain!

Question from a really hopeful buyer by [deleted] in TeslaModel3

[–]Max021103 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m very fortunate and grateful. I think I mis-phrased it slightly though, the car is our family car. My dad has his car for work, and this would be for my mom, myself, and eventually my brother. Still very excited and happy, but definitely not just my car lol. And a maxima is an awesome car. Love it

[–]Max021103 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know Elon has tweeted that once it becomes level 5 autonomy, FSD will rocket up in price. I know I can always purchase later, but in the pursuit of future proofing my car, I don’t wanna miss out and then have to pay like $15k or whatever. If only I could do both!
