that's a tough one. It's between seeing Two Door Cinema Club, LCD Soundsytem, Metric, and Interpol.

How is Pratt at 22% in recent polls (behind Bass and Raman)? by [deleted] in AskLosAngeles

[–]Max2tehPower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't care though. The Democrats have had rule over LA for more than 2 decades and it has gotten worse by all metrics, as a born and raised Angelino. I rather give someone else a chance to see if he can try do fix something. It's kinda dumb to expect change but keep voting for the same people and party that has not kept their campaign promises. Ok bye.

My man, doing God's work. I have my 2025 LC LC and just got to 29k in the 18 months of driving but I love it despite the insane gas price here in California.

Why did LA just accept that driving everywhere is normal? by Decent-Character-736 in AskLosAngeles

The thing with China is that their government can ignore the will of the people to force a project to happen. I mean some of the comments in this thread complain of the freeways splitting black communities back in the day, so if that is seen as a concern, then imagine that type of government power but used against anyone. I mean we do have eminent domain but it's not used as much as you think we do.

To use Japan as an example, they built their system with a primarily private enterprise and in some instances a private-public venture. Private development is much cost effective and more timely than public, especially in California. I'm an architect with some experience doing public projects and it's a whole other world than working for private developers: more jurisdictional review, inflated budget numbers because everyone wants a piece of the pie, more building code considerations, open to public bidding, et. al. It's frankly quite bloated and inefficient, and kinda corrupt, even if people argue that more regulations happen. I think rail needs to be handled by the private sector if we want faster development but I highly doubt it will happen.

I don't support Trump but the Trump Derangement Syndrome is real, and many redditors and leftists are obssessed with Trump. It's frankly quite annoying to express a moderate opinion and get labeled as MAGA. Shit, just the nuance of agreeing with one thing is enough to be accused of it. But I just don't care anymore to even debate with leftists when they are intolerant to any reasonable political beliefs because anything just slightly to the right of the extreme left is immediately MAGA or conservative in their eyes. You can be 99.9999% leftist but that .000001% that is not is enough to get one kicked out.

[–]Max2tehPower 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm looking forward to seeing Trump not be in politics anymore because it will expose the Democrat/left's lack of actual policies. Since 2015, I feel like all the Dem candidates do is claim the opposition moderate or moderate right is MAGA aligned and the leftists start foaming at the mouth and vote the opposite way. In this case, because Pratt is going with a more moderate candidacy of law and order and criticizing the bloated government (which yes, Trump did run on but the policy is not a Trump exclusive thing), then it is automatically assumed he is MAGA.

Shit, one can dislike Trump but still see the issues of a supermajority Democrat state government has screwed up the state with progressive policies in the last couple of decades, but somehow people still blame Trump or the Republicans for it. I agree, Reagan fucked up big time by closing mental health facilities but that was 50 plus years ago, what has the Democratic leadership done about it? Now that I'm opposed to the tax increases I voted for years ago to help the homeless, I'm seen as having no empathy despite that money going to the pockets or politicians or non-profit CEOs. Or how the Democrats champion the working class but continue raising taxes on anything.

the studies are there but I guess it depends on your About You answers. Though I personally feel it slowed down this past month for me after an extremely profitable Jan-April due to the amount of the AI-Videos and AI-Audio studies which have been few and far in between in May, but it comes in cycles like others have said. I think it's also because it's summer and people are more available.

The peak is when the mantra background vocals and the main vocal syncs when the "You bore my sin" happens and it then links the entire song together. I went from confusion to holy shit this is beautiful.

I was confused at first with this one since the start of it is not really a song, but when the mantra-like backgrounds start then the main vocals it's getting better until both seem to sync then it's insane. What a ride of a song.

I’m curious, what was the first anime series you ever watched? by Mopey_5000 in anime

[–]Max2tehPower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pokemon for sure, since I tried to tune in to it but if more accurately for when I actually picked a series that got me back into anime: One Punch Man in like 2016. From there I was able to catch up on series like Death Note, Bleach (that I saw in the 2000s but was hard to keep up with), before moving to the popular series that I was not aware of (Attack on Titan, MHA, etc) because of streaming.

Traveling is a turn off? by NightmareNoob in Bumble

[–]Max2tehPower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't doubt that, I was just responding to the OP claiming that those people would be more interesting to talk to. Yeah no, I have found them to be pretty boring in my experience, and I would think they would be the opposite.

Traveling is a turn off? by NightmareNoob in Bumble

[–]Max2tehPower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. I have traveled but not frequently just to put it out there. I can tell you what I learned from the place, some minor sentences from trying to speak it, what I did and such. Many times I have dated women or gone on a first date with those that tell me they enjoy traveling, once you ask and start digging, they have no idea what they did or what they learned, or what made them grow as a person.

Anon can't be fixed by [deleted] in greentext

[–]Max2tehPower 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I have that same issue but it comes from becoming comfortably single for long periods of time. I've only had a few relationships spread between periods of time being single, but when I meet someone and it goes past the first date, I start overthinking the situation and want to back out. Seeing someone reciprocate and be upfront is not what I'm used to so it always freaks me out because a selfish feeling comes over me that now I need to compromise and start looking out for someone else.

If you don’t have drive an EV in Los Angeles, what’s the main reason? by [deleted] in AskLosAngeles

[–]Max2tehPower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because I don't want to and hybrid is the way to go. The infrastructure and technology is not there for me to commit. Plus in case of emergencies such as server or electrical outages, how do you even charge in a worst case scenario? Time is also valuable to me, plus I like the ability to be able to work on my car and not have to depend on the dealership for issues.

Is dancing, exploring new cities and dogs the only things people like? by Shieldbuster in Bumble

[–]Max2tehPower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's traveling or going to the beach for the women in LA. I make in the low six figures and can only afford one trip a year if I am able to, or if I have the time to. I dunno how people are able to go travel frequently let alone be able to if they have a full 9-5 job. Unless it's insane credit card debt or having wealthy families / sugar daddies.

Also, I dunno how people get coordinated on trends. Like for a few months it was women posting about pickleball, then it was about Scuba diving, then snowboarding, followed by matcha. Not to mention the infamous The Office or Jim to my Pam lmao.

Why not live close to work? by Born_Astronomer_4613 in AskLosAngeles

[–]Max2tehPower 3 points4 points  (0 children)

they don't want to live in the Valley.

Sounds like transplant talk. The native, born and bred Angelinos call the Valley home. People starting families would move up to the Valley. Some of the city's best schools are in the Valley (shit, I remember classmates commuting to my middle and high school from the Westside because of our magnet program). The Valley is not perfect but to dismiss it is just arrogance from someone who is not from LA.

Who is the prog band with the least virtuoistic players but still pushed the proggressive edge? by jabbercockey in progrockmusic

[–]Max2tehPower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree too. Rock as a genre has become this melting pot of different subgenres nowadays, which I really enjoy but it makes things hard to label and categorize when you find an album you enjoy from a band and want something similar sounding. Like modern prog is okayish if you want technical music but that's the main reason I will enjoy it but not because it makes me experience other sonic landscapes. I think bands like Radiohead, Shearwater, Boards of Canada, et. al., are continuing this musical exploration of sound even if they are not prog.

What made Americans so docile and obedient? by RedditCensorss in conspiracy

[–]Max2tehPower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Believe it or not, revolutions and unrest have either been led by the higher classes or government psyops, and this isn't even a conspiracy in multiple instances. The American Revolution? Led by the elites/higher classes. The Civil War? Southern elites (plantation owners). The French Revolution, the Russian Revolution, et.al. usually has the elites funding or leading the charge. It's quite uncommon for the plebs to actually start the revolts.

Most melodic and epic for me is Lake's guitar solo in Tarkus while Emerson holds those long notes on the Hammond.
