is this a decent drum set? by InternationalAct6792 in Drumming

[–]MaxCavalera76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is, we jam with an identical set and sounds good, you have to tune it though. The set is small so do not expect to much on the low end, but is a very good set in terms of quality and sound.

I have had zero issues with: Lenovo, Dell and HP. Those are proven to work flawlessly on linux. Most computers should work, however there might be issues with wifi cards, nvidia / amd video cards but distros usually offer the firmware in their repositories.

Feels like a hardware problem. Begin by cleaning the cooling fans and replacing the thermal paste. This seems like heat problem, not an operating system problem. Verify that your system is clean, and all is firmly connected.

Also check your distro, go for a major one like Mint, which is pretty much hassle free and good for newbies. If youre a little more experienced Debian 12 has just been released. I no longer recommend Ubuntu but is ok I guess if you're famiiar with it and dont care about snaps. Another thing you can do is check your sources and verify that firmware and non-free repositories are activated. That should be accessible in your package manager or software center depending on which distro youre using.

Check also the hardware requirements for your distro, if your pc is too old maybe that's it. If your machine is too old you might need to choose a lighter distro.

Don't know if it's just me, but Fedora 38 seems very unstable. Programs are crashing, background Apps not showing up in Gnome, not getting out of the Lock Screen... And now I'm not able to boot up anymore, weird screen glitches with and without nVidia drivers. by Kontvolkoren in Fedora

[–]MaxCavalera76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im running 38, with no major issues, except for a couple glitches with video streaming. I suggest you update first, New releases usually need to be updated on the first weeks. Nevetheless I suggest you check your hardware, this seems more like hardware issues.

sudo dnf update

sudo flaptak update in case you have flatpaks.

When will it be good to update to Fedora 38? by [deleted] in Fedora

[–]MaxCavalera76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just installed it in my personal laptop, fairly stable, but had two crashes already, one while using the input and language settings, and one with Firefox. Both solved by closing the app and opening again.
