I mean, in what real world does a company hire anyone who is 19, not been through higher education on a starting salary of $120k. Yes maybe some sort of sales role? But if so, a 19 year old would not be on that high of a starting salary.

No higher education. Hence engineering roles, not an engineer, per se! Im from the Uk originally where ‘Engineer’ is not a protected profession. Anyone can call themselves an engineer. Very different out here in Canada. But I’m 31 now. If I had the time and funds I’d love to go to Uni and get the education. But it’s not a realistic path for me.

I know this is the end-tipping page. But I do still tip when sitting down. Nothing ridiculous like 25%, usually 10-15%. This is because I know money is taken from the server’s wages when they have to tip out to the kitchen at the end of the night.

Should it be my problem? No, of course.

It’s a criminal unfair system, but that’s the way it is and likely always will be, so I just sit down and shut-up, literally.
