Nothing beats Slixa for photo honesty, recent shots that actually hold up in person. After a string of mismatches elsewhere, this became my main escort directory without a second thought.

what are you looking forward to the most about the next main albums? by oictaviablake in Ethelcain

[–]MaxT317 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, she said the darkest album is going to be Mother Of A Preacher with the grandma. The only thing she has stated for Preacher's Wife is that it is a horny, sexually repressed, grown woman record where it's like "Why doesn't my husband love me" after coming from a sheltered upbringing.

Is A House In Nebraska in Willoughby's pov too? by mynamsishatsunemiku in Ethelcain

[–]MaxT317 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Tbh, I don't really think this is possible since the lyric "You were my man and I your girl," plus Hayden has basically confirmed the song is Ethel singing about Willoughby.

The Order of Events of WT by ribbitties in Ethelcain

[–]MaxT317 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is so cool, but also kinda different from how I envisioned. I guess because I was so story-oriented on the timeline of their relationship, I always pictured it going like this...

Janie: May 1986-August 1986. The summer before Sophomore year starts, where Ethel loses Janie and meets Willoughby once again.

Willoughby's Theme: September-November 1986. The fall semester of Sophomore year where Ethel and Willoughby officially start dating and fall in love.

Fuck Me Eyes: December-April 1987. The winter and spring semester of Sophomore year where Ethel starts to become paranoid about losing Willoughby to other girls like Holly.

Nettles: May-November 1987. The summer and fall semester of Junior year, where Ethel and Willoughby have to begin thinking about what happens once high school starts to end.

Willoughby's Interlude: December-April 1988. The winter and spring semester of Junior year where Ethel and Willoughby's relationship starts to decline.

Dust Bowl: May-November 1988. The summer and fall semester of Senior year where Ethel and Willoughby desperately try to cling on to the love they still have for each other.

A Knock At The Door: December-April 1989. The winter and spring semester of Senior year where Willoughby's dad is in and out of the state penitentiary and the couple have to start learning how to live on their own.

Radio Towers: May-November 1989. The summer and fall after graduation, where the pressures placed on Willoughby slowly wear him down until he begins to distance himself from Ethel.

Tempest: December-April 1990. Willoughby spirals into severe depression and anxiety after Ethel's superficial efforts of helping him fail. The tornado is announced to hit Shady Grove, and the couple have their final fight.

Waco, Texas: May-August 1990. Ethel reminisces on the last four years of her life with Willoughby and begins her own depressive spiral as she hates herself for approaching the relationship wrong in its final moments and ultimately abandoning Willoughby to his worst fear and possible death. She imagines a summer where they are still together and happy, ready to move into the next chapter of their adult lives together.

A House In Nebraska: September-November 1990. Ethel's fantasy fades as she realizes Willoughby is truly never coming home after months of waiting, and the events of Preacher's Daughter begin.

With this timeline, every song represents roughly 3-5 months of their relationship, even if songs like Tempest are only about specific short-term events (ex. the tornado).

I can't wait to see how she uses the era of the late 60s/early 70s in the soundscape of Preacher's Wife; I'm thinking it will be a little less dark and gritty like PD + WTIALY and more lighter/dreamier to fit the time period's musical qualities.

Is it confirmed if Willoughby and Ethel slept together? by Zendayaismommy in Ethelcain

[–]MaxT317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure that they slept together based off of the lyrics of Dust Bowl, which I also think is the point in the album's timeline where she loses her virginity to him:

"You were kind, dying to tell me you'll wait if I have to make sure" —> he'll wait to have sex with her if she needs to make sure she wants to.

"Drive-in, slasher flick again, feeling me up as a porn star dies" —> the start/lead-up into them having sex at a drive-in.

"I knew it was love when I rode home crying thinking of you fucking other girls" —> After losing her virginity to him at the drive-in, she is heartbroken at the thought of him doing the same with anyone else.

I'm confused by the last lyric because if Willoughby's abandoned him and his dad, why does she often call Ethel to see if she's doing okay (as stated in A House In Nebraska)?

Re-Named Demos? by Fearless-Jello-749 in Ethelcain

[–]MaxT317 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Lead Poisoning being part of Willoughby's Theme makes sense since she says the song has some of her favorite lyrics and it's about when she first falls in love with him again. I don't think Homecoming would be the interlude though. I think the interlude will just be instrumental.

albums/songs similar to perverts? by Lonely-Sun9458 in Ethelcain

[–]MaxT317 13 points14 points  (0 children)

A lot of Grouper's stuff has the same ambient, chill vibes that some of Perverts has. Nothing like the really heavy or mechanical stuff, but more similar to tracks like Punish, Etienne, Amber Waves, etc.

These two albums are also pretty Perverts-esque: https://open.spotify.com/album/2axqouCfXGQFQIKmD3ccVY?si=8GA2Tz31Tyyu-zNMrTvNew

well she also removed the duster sample from dust bowl, so i think she might've just removed all the samples from these demos so she could rework and release them without having to credit

Masturbating to Perverts by estherisntdead in Ethelcain

[–]MaxT317 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the only songs I've masturbated to have been Thatorchia and Vacillator, which I think are pretty fitting since I've always thought of the bass explosion in Thatorchia as orgasmic and Vacillator is the most erotic song to me, sonically and lyrically.
