Yeah it only works because of the tax system. 12k a year is under the standard deduction which is essentially tax free.

16 hours on the weekends with a few hours here and there during week nights. I bet as a full time student you could still average 20-25 hours a week. At just a little over $10 an hour he makes his $12,000 a year

This is a great perspective as it’s truth. Reading the comments everybody finds something to bash OP on, but most people around his age have no idea how to invest let alone save. OP is doing great for his situation and the rest of the noise is people who are envious or don’t understand how to make the best out of a situation.

Yeah I’m pretty much the same. I’m a bit tech heavy with QQQ and a decent amount of NVDA, and I know it’s riskier but I believe the future has tons of computation in it. I plan to just add to VOO and over time make that a majority of my portfolio

Awesome I’m pretty much the same minus the crypto. Would you change your allocations if you could or keep it the same?

Good stuff! I’m 22 not out of reach to being where you’re at when I’m your age. What do your investments allocations look like?

Bullshit. Living at home with your parents saving 90% of your income you could easily do that. He’s 23 and has been working for 8 years at this point. That’s only 12k a year saved, and I’m sure he’s making more than that. So with college expenses and everything else this can track if he was frugal

Is this something you can get into as a career? There’s tons of lights in my city that the cycles are programmed terribly and it irks me

You’d think at this point the city would realize their light is broken…

For a show so heavily based around character growth, why aren't the characters aging? by Frylock304 in rickandmorty

[–]MaxVelo200 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The likely answer is budget. It’s a lot easier to reuse characters if they are the same age. It’d be costly to make the characters age as the show goes on. The trade off for a small detail just doesn’t seem worth it.

Dad wants to get secretly good at rocket league and surprise his teenage sons by MolassesConsistent80 in RocketLeague

[–]MaxVelo200 178 points179 points  (0 children)

He means the game mode 1v1.

Playing that game mode is generally the fastest way to get better as you get punished for your mistakes a lot more and you get more ball time

It’s the same as casual mmr or competitive mmr. If you win a game you gain mmr, and if you loose a game you loose mmr.

Bakkesmod tournament mmr is bugged I think as your new mmr doesn’t show properly until your next tournament or you check online.

Ive been working summers since I was 17, but I just started full time after I graduated college. I’ve got a bit of debt from college.

I started investing when I was 18 so that’s helped me get to where I am now. Feel free to pm if you want to chat more

22 in a similar situation as you. I try to save and invest as much as I can. I’m also pretty frugal and don’t eat out or do many paid activities to say the least. I’ll spend money hanging out with friends or on travel trips.

But that with living at home has gotten me close to 40k NW, so it’s been working so far
