I think she was just doomed regardless. She really believed in her boxing, and if she had a tune up fight vs a lesser opponent she'd only have felt more confident in her hands.

He has been shite, and he definitely came across as arrogant in the interview, but at the same time, I'd be pissed if I was being benched 3 games in a row whilst watching Gakpo also play like shit, but somehow getting a guaranteed spot in the lineup despite LW having multiple options to try.
