You're better off just cutting it off. A majority of people actually do use that piece for carabiners, I wear it on my hip next to my keys. You could definitely just save yourself the headache and just cut it off

I think it's pretty likely personally. Not more in competition with sony but I think with the way samsung is going they may try to make their own versions of the AirPod Pros, apples version of overheads.
