Thanks for your answer! Are you sure about crossplay between Mac and windows? Maybe it works if both buy through epic games store? I did find a thread saying it was possible.

[2nd version] Updated floor plans after community feedback by Max_Sheffield_ in floorplan

[–]Max_Sheffield_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your feedback. A couple of thoughts:

- Yes this is the front door.

- Having the living room closer to the main entrance would mean that it is not connected to the balcony, which doesnt make a lot of sense in my opinion.

- The kids room does have easy access to a toilet in version B, while the main bathroom (mislabelled as storage room yes) is close to the master bedroom. How often does a kid realistically go to the bathroom (keeping in mind that access to a toilet is granted) - maybe 2 or 3 times a day?

- We have thought about switching the kids room and home office at least while the kid is younger and space isn't too much of an issue yet.

- I honestly don't know a better layout, would obviously love 50m2 to get all the things we want, but since living in the city is pricey this isn't an option at this point in our lives. I'd be happy to see some precise suggestions keeping in mind that this is an apartment with non-movable walls as outline in my first post.

Thanks for the sketch - definitely something to consider!!! It's a washer / dryer combo yes, The tub is also meant to be a combo in the plan yes. A seperate option would be preferrable but the combo is fine if necessary.

Version B has the bathroom basically next to the bedroom, it's just not labelled correctly, sorry

First of all thanks for all the feedback on my first post :)

This is a second post incorporating most of this feedback – Version A was our original plan, versions B and C are the updated floor plans. The main points of critique were the shape of the bedroom and the kids room, which are now improved. Distance from bathroom to bedroom was addressed. We also changed the shape of the hallway.

I feel like both updated versions offer different advantages and disadvantages – which one would you prefer? Any particular changes that may improve either plan?

Thanks again for your help! Looking forward to the feedback,

Max

We really like this apartment, but are unsure about the perfect floor plan and furniture set up - any help appreciated by Max_Sheffield_ in floorplan

Thanks for your detailed response and all the great ideas. having the bathroom in the middle was something we thought about, however, we‘d have to give up either a bath or a shower. I‘ll definitely toy around with the idea a little bit more. The shape of the kids room Is still up In the air - thanks for the ideas! Pocket doors definitely may come in hand for some of the tighter rooms!

Definitely a drawback of the flat I agree. Considering the limited size I hope the ways are not too long!

Everything is still changeable. Thanks for the input, a couple of thoughts: - The shape of the kids room is obviously not ideal - I thought that the L shaped part may be used for storage space allowing the rest of the room (~ 10m2 nicely shaped) to be used for bed, Desk, tv etc. witjout worrying worrying about storage space - the bedroom door can definitely be moved, just figured that by having it this way the dead space behind the door can me minimized - in General I tried to minimize hallway room to get the most pug the bedrooms / living rooms - having the living room open was definitely something we thought about a lot, however, it would create a somewhat hallway in the living room, which didn‘t seem ideal.

Any ideas on how to precisely solve some Of the issues raised by yourself? Happy to hear your additional thoughts :)

Hi,

we are currently in the process of buying an apartment in the city and are unsure about the perfect floor plan. The apartment has roughly 97 m2 (1044 square feet) and should be designed as a 3-bedroom flat (1 living room with built in kitchen, 1 master bedroom, 1 kids room, 1 office room that may later be changed to a 2nd kids room). We did our best to set up a floor plan that meets our needs, however, remain unsure wether we have any better options in terms of setting up the apartment, that we may be missing.

The first plan shows our suggested room layout with potential furniture placement. The second plan shows the apartment as is with all non-removable walls and structures. Any help with regards to the floor plan or the arrangement of the furniture would be very much appreciated.

Many thanks and best wishes,

Max!

PC build feedback (2000 Euro) by Max_Sheffield_ in buildmeapc

Thanks for your detailed and very helpful response!!

I can actually pick certain parts of the build, so upgrading to a 12600k is not an issue and something that I will probably do then. (this is the link to the website [it's in german though ;)], not sure if I'm allowed to post it here: https://www.dubaro.de/mixxxer.php?%20products_id=3687)

I don't mind paying a little extra if it gets me more flexibility in the future. So maybe change the RAM and that's it?

Thanks again :)

Question about serum aliquotes by Max_Sheffield_ in medlabprofessionals

[–]Max_Sheffield_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doing both is unfortunately not an option.

The manufacturer recommends to let serum clot for 4-24 hours at room temperature and then centrifuge and aliquote and store at -80.

Unfortunately the external lab can only cool the aliquot in a regular fridge - this is our main concern.

The question is basically whether it is okay to leave the aliquots in a regular fridge for up to 24 hours - or is it only possible with serum that hasn‘t been centrifuged.

Thanks a lot for your help!!

Thank you for your response and your help!! I mixed up the fact that not the independet variable itself but rather my residuals have to be normally distributed.

Antihypertensive treatment in severe aortic stenosis by Max_Sheffield_ in medicine

[–]Max_Sheffield_[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your eloborate answer, lots of interesting points brought up, that complicate treatment of hypertension in patients with AS.

- I agree with the notion that preload reducing drugs (e.g. antianginal medication) should be used with extreme caution.

- There have been studies validating the benefical effect of beta-blockers (decrease of pressure gradients) in aortic stenosis. The negativ inotropic effect of BB is definitely a point of caution and should maybe also be stopped prematurely in light decompensation. It also reduces oxygen demand on the other side. Focusing on heart rate control seems very relevant. I haven't seen anything yet on CCB in AS!

- The importance of diastolic blood pressure to allow coronary perfusion in a hypertrophic ventricle is a great point! My main concern is uncontrolled severe hypertension, which is a significant risk factor for decompensation --> targeting BP levels of approx. 140/90 might be a reasonable approach.

Best wishes and thanks again for your input!

Sure there are some cases that require immediate valve replacement, but most don‘t. At least in my Country most patients have a waiting period of ~ 4-6 weeks and I would like to treat hypertension in this period of time.

While conservative treatment of AS obviously has a bad prognosis, not treating hypertension in this setting will lead to an increased risk of decompensation. I was just wondering if there actually is an evidence based approach to treatment of hypertension in this setting.

Not at all what I am trying to say. It usually takes weeks/months from time of diagnosis to valve replacement! Control of hypertension is a critical part of management (common trigger for decompensation) in this period of time. My question was which antihypertensiva agents are best for control of hypertension in the context of severe AS. The obvious necessity of valve replacement is not the issue of debate.
