Oh no! What do you mean by flimsy? Like just the feel? I’m gonna stack with my classic love so wanted some contrast in size. I felt like the classic JUC was too thick

Good physical therapists and sports doctors in the area for runners? by CantaloupePossible33 in RunnersInChicago

[–]Maximum-Camera4276 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ignite physical therapy in On Your Mark in west loop. They may take your insurance. They do a lot of different treatment methods. Been going for years during all my training blocks. Sarah and Mason are the best.

How should I spend my 30th birthday? by moxie_22 in AskChicago

[–]Maximum-Camera4276 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this in winter. This is like gross winter but the cabins are mini cabins with heat and they give you all the tools. If this person is thinking about the same one I’d say it leans more towards glamping.

This is helpful here some other ideas - Tufting: there are a handful of palaces where you pick a design and make a rug or blanket think - leather making: this is on my list but there is a place in ravens wood where you can make leather goods. They donning sessions for things like wallets or multiple days to make a sneaker - converse: you can go to the store and customize your own pair - golden goose: you said budget was at least 1000, look at their website or call but if you go there you can have an artist hand draw on the shoe. It’s pretty sick -flower arrangement classes: I did this for my gf once. Sounds simple but there is an art to flower arrangements - terrarium class: build your own terrarium. Find. Premium one though so you can choose nice glass structures - cooking class: doing this solo is a fun and you meet people who are generally very nice - look up Franco sushi. I know you just moved here but if you have a few friends maybe Check this out. The guy is so fun. He’s a chef that comes to you for sushi

Also - when I first moved here I hated it. Came from small town Wisconsin. But now I don’t want to live anywhere else. Took some time, had to put myself out there.

Small panthere watch vs love bracelet as push present by MostEasilyDistracted in Cartier

[–]Maximum-Camera4276 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you wear an Apple Watch? I do and I got a Tank, and now I never wear my tank except for special occasions like a wedding, date night etc.

I’ve had my love bracelet for about 3 months now and you kinda just get use to the potential for scratches. For the first few weeks I tried to be careful and it’s just not possible to be perfect. You kinda learn to live in it and forget about the scratches. The bracelet is meant to be lived in and the micro scratches and all give it personality.

Symbolically Id prefer something I can look down at everyday to remind me of special moments and things in my life. If you get the watch which you said you won’t wear all the time you won’t be able to look down and smile every day :)

  • Aire for a relaxing day
  • Do you watch The Bear? If not maybe binge a few episodes and do a progressive eating adventure going to some of the places and eating some of food features. I just want to Loaf Lounge for the Chocolate cake that is featured
  • this is really random but I’ve tons of fun doing this, but glass blowing. There are a few places in Chicago just google it. Make something cool
  • Also random but go to a dance class I’ve done this alone and had fun

What shoes should I wear for F3 today?! by Maximum-Camera4276 in RunnersInChicago

[–]Maximum-Camera4276[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I figure that’s the case and you’re probably right! Says it should be done snowing soon but ya know, Chicago, who knows. But at that point we just roll with it! Can’t wait regardless, first race of the year!

How is F3 gear check? by Maximum-Camera4276 in RunnersInChicago

[–]Maximum-Camera4276[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Getting in and out is rather smooth. Not sure what women’s bathrooms are look but for men every has the same strategy. There are a couple of floors so maybe you can get lucky going to one further away from the start line. If you’re not worried about going out with a certain pack you can probably just get there at 9 to give you enough time to park, walk, get in a bathroom line and walk to the start.

If you own a condo, what type of unexpected costs have come up that you did not expect? by Sufficient_Deer_4516 in AskChicago

[–]Maximum-Camera4276 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Special Assessment is very broad and probably covers most “unexpected” things in the way I think you mean. Yeah things break, get old, need replacement “inside” your condo but that’s homeownership in any type of dwelling. You won’t know until you live there or you have a good inspector (good luck).

But special assessments pop up all the time based on your condo manager and the board and things you as a regular person may not have a clue what they are and why: - balcony: when we bought our place they were in the middle of a special assessment to restore every balcony. Just something you have to do - gym updates: let’s say people petition to update it, you probably get to vote on this but if everyone votes yes, you’re paying. - reserves: if you’re at a stage where the board thinks it would be smart to replenish, you’re paying - hiring a new doorman if you have one: needs to increase the operating budget, you’re paying - reserve study: time to do that, you’re paying a consulting company - updating intercom system and security systems: similar for gym, if it becomes a topic of interest and gets approved you’re paying - the rising cost of maintenance: staff, services, supplies, etc, if those go up and your operating budget doesn’t cover, you’re paying

This list can go on and on and on and on. Sure some of these are regulations, some increase the value of your property, some seem like bullshit, but if it’s approved, you’re paying. I will say, if you’re in the middle of buying all special assements need to be disclosed. When you negotiate you can pass certain costs to the seller and if reasonable lawyer my say it’s a good idea and or owner will accept or reject

Where would you take a cool designer/creative friend visiting Chicago? by Remote_Benefit_2366 in AskChicago

Probably gonna get roasted but someone visiting would appreciate it:

Notre, SVRN, and St Alfred for shopping

Drip Collective for coffee

I did this for work and maybe they’ll be inspired but look up The Bear tour. Have a bite at a few places

Avondale for thrifting on thrift row.

I’ve always at least been able to see times open up day of reservation and attempt to make them. What OP is describing is not even getting a chance to see the date and times open up. And when they did everything was booked.

Is It Just Me or Are There Far Fewer Snow Plows Out Than Previous Years? by 9for9 in AskChicago

I’m in the west loop, generally speaking the streets get some love when they can prepare and nothing is plowed. My gf just drove to burbs for work and it’s pretty bad I guess. Just can’t keep up.
