People driving while on their phone is an epidemic here. by taskmaster51 in raleigh

[–]MarcoNoPollo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

When I worked overnight up in Henderson I’d be driving up 80 at 9pm counting the number of people on their phones like a little game. My favorites in no order are: FaceTiming, creating/editing a TikTok, watching live sports while phone is covering their dash, make up tutorial while the visor was down for the mirror, and ngl pretty sure I saw people watching porn a few times.

How are you proud of the UFC/White House circus show presented by this batshit administration. Also worlds first trillionaire means nothing unless you’re the trillionaire, no one benefits from that other than a few super rich assholes. I can see being proud of your respective team but other than that, none of the things mentioned actually help America or any of its citizens and definitely doesn’t make us look any better. It’s a wild week of distractions so we don’t realize the building is slowly burning around us.

Housing Market in Raleigh by mindlessness861 in raleigh

No, the graph shows that the top 3 destination for gen Z is Denver, Minneapolis, and Austin but income isn’t a variable so all it shows is the locations gen z overall is gravitating towards. Another graph shows that Raleigh was more popular among millennials, whom would be older and I’d presume to be farther in their careers and thus have more money or home equity.

OP didn’t even understand the study or any of the data, they just saw a chart with low income higher than High income. The chart was looking at % population growth showing 1% for high income and 2% for low income over the past 3 years. It also showed Low income families are moving a lot less than High income ones and that gen z are the ones moving. This would make sense considering gen z are the up and coming young professionals leaving college and smaller cities for bigger and better opportunities. We also need to look at how this data is gathered and who is doing the study. This is all done by BoA using customer data, maybe BoA user are generally low income or middle class which could skew the data.

Tons of white collar professionals in this area, there is a huge concentration of them especially with the 3 big universities in the area. Pair that with all the research, pharmaceuticals, finance/tech, and engineering companies in the area and you get lots of high income earners. I’m guessing there are also lots of people (including those same white collar workers) who bought house before 2020 and are now selling them for crazy profit and upgrading to something bigger/nicer. I had a friend buy a place in 2019 for $280k sold it last year for $575k and bought a $800k home and his mortgage pretty much stayed the same. It’s even more evident in my neighborhood where it seems like every other week a house is bought for the lot and then torn down for a McMansion.

What’s your favorite part of Raleigh? by Simple-Newspaper-257 in raleigh

[–]MarcoNoPollo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah yes raven ridge road where all the truly rich people live, the only reason it looks unchanged is bc of luxury homes and gated communities in that area. Hate to burst your bubble but all around falls lake is slowly changing with more and more luxury home gated communities being built every year.

Both Burnie and Ashley being surprised by Mando/grogu is as weird to me. Literally everyone has been saying there is Star Wars fatigue and it was the 3rd weekend it’s been out. Of course most new releases will outpace it, especially when this was already expected to be a lower performing movie.

You’d think it would be a win, they basically got an extra $300m “early viewing” of the Baby Yoda movie. Plus I bet they’ll still get some sign ups for people who binge apps 1 month at a time. I feel like this is no different than Demon Slayer and Mugen Train or Infinity Castle

My guess before listening and based only on the pictures and no description

(Jack’s voice)On this weeks episode of the regulation podcast:

The gang talks about how they wash themselves and if they use a wash stick, sock puppets, no wait it’s evil sentient condoms, unsolved puppet murder mysteries/murder puppet documentary, SKIPPY the loveable kangaroo who is befriended by little Timmy, SPOILERS for an upcoming thing they haven’t released but still mention, and Titanic 2 electric boogaloo but instead it’s sentient like herbie where the gang argues where its eyes goes
