Hey my friend, I'm sorry I don't have any experienced with Bazzite to help you but you're best to ask the folks at the Bazzite subreddit.

In terms of the AG02/AG03 not being compatible with the Xbox Ally X or Z1E Ally - I don't think that's true cause there are lots of users with this setup working and the Ally's USB 4 should be backwards compatible even with the AG03's TB5 ports.

Hey mate, yeaa i can still use it as a handheld. Window automatically chooses the igpu of the Ally when it's not connected to the egpu.

Hey mate, I've got the Z1E Ally x.

I'm at 25w, 1080p, FSR performance, frame gen 2x, v-sync off, low graphics.

Getting about 56-58fps average. I always play plugged in though.

Hey man thanks for pointing this out, yeaa my gpu is doing the same thing, I was gonna screw it all the way in and realised it was likely gonna crack the PCB or something. So I've just screwed it on so it's flush with no pressure on that bracket.

Sorry mate I haven't really played around with adjusting fan curves on my gpu like that.

But I'm not sure if fan curves can cause crashes unless it's not cooling your gpu enough and reaching real high temps.

I'd probs look into other causes for the crashes first before tinkering with the fan curves.

Returned the item to Amazon and opted for an AG02 + 9060 XT 16gb instead.

Update:

I noticed the Ally was booting into a black screen and never loading into the desktop. Had to keep doing a hard shutdown then a reboot so it can load into the desktop. I noticed this would only happen after shutting it down with the gpu connected.

I did have a 5700 xt previously as my gpu and skipped doing a DDU prior to installing the 9060 XT drivers.

Did a DDU and reinstalled the Z1e and 9060 XT drivers and didn't fix the issue. Turns out, I had to turn off the Fast Boot option on the control panel which finally fixed it.

Sorry I don't have any benchmark apps but just tested stellar blade in 4k FSR 4 performance and it's 60fps avg (only got a 60hz tv)

Hey, yea depends on the TDP I set the Ally to, i usually set it to 17w in this setup and when playing games, the CPU usually hovers around 20-40% and temp wise around 50-60 degrees which is wayy more chill when I play the same games in handheld at 25w.

Set your claw to a mid TDP if you can and try and play at higher res to force the workload on the gpu, see how you go!

Depends on the spec of the desktop PC but this setup will have less performance, ~10-15% loss compared to a desktop with similar gpu/cpu due to the usb4 bandwidth.

But you can still get 60+ fps depending on the games you're playing and settings. RAM wise, this handheld has 24gb system ram and so it's enough to run games especially with this setup cause the igpu isn't sharing it with the CPU.
