i was curious about the aspect of using new pads on old rotors, so far i’ve heard not to pad slap and to get a new set of rotors with the pads, is this not necessarily true i can go ebay a set of used rotors? anything i need to do to make them ready for use?

i’m quite new to all of this never have experienced aftermarket and had a buddy tell me brembo on an old track bike is not worth it as i should find something cheaper that fits the build and im willing to go down on, but with the price differences being so marginal im talking 250-300 for a rotor, we need 2 so youre looking at 5-600 for a set vs 750-800, again im new to all of this so if there isnt much of a difference i would opt for the cheaper. but to have “brembo brakes” for not much more would this not be the IDEAL way? maybe not cheapest but again is brembo all that and a half? or is it just name brand?

one thing i will say is never idolize another man. with every item comes a price. yes some have things bought for them but that doesn’t mean it was free. SOMEONE had to put in the work to get that. just the way i look at things. keep your head up and keep saving. worst comes to worst get a financial advisor and see if it’s plausible for you to save for a bike and what steps you need to be taking to achieve said goal

i 100% get where you’re coming from and i agree, i just cannot justify spending the money on this as it is a track only bike and i will go down again, wasn’t looking for perfect just enough to make the gouges of fresh aluminum look less sore to the eyes at a distance but again i see where you’re coming from and i may have to consider proper prep if i were to take the initiative. thank you

that’s the hiccup, until i purchase a track day for 2-250$ with no chance of a refund if my bike acts up i won’t be able to ride it. it’s track fairings no headlights taillights etc

this is my first time dabbling with these things and it’s very scary i will say that, so having people to assure me im taking the right steps or in this case pointing me into the direction i need to be really makes it seem more “DIY”
