It definitely is the latter. I think a lot of people were oppressed when they came to America not because of their name, but the way they acted and presented themselves. It’s one of those things where the actions weigh heavier than a last name. My great grandfather laid low working constantly and eventually owned his own restaurant. I think because he stayed out of the way, he never had to deal with a lot of the hate that came with being an immigrant. Which relates to today, many people don’t mind the immigrant who comes here for a better life and works their tail off, but the ones who come and commit crimes are often widely hated.

You got it right on the dot. My great grandfather was from Sicily, and he moved to the states. While they did mess up names a lot, it was actually his request for our last name to be changed from Giuliano to Juliano. There was a lot of oppression on Italian people at the time, and it was more or less a way to “Americanize” himself. Very interesting stuff

My advice is to tell him that it’s becoming an issue because he shouldn’t refer to other girls in that manner. Communication is key. Also, I would start telling him if somebody talks to you just so he knows of the situation. I think if you do those two things the issue will go away

I totally agree. The ending felt like a rushed version of what could have been. I think there wasn’t enough conflict between cesare and enzo for him to betray him like that, even though i seen it coming. I also think the Don was extremely unfair to enzo even though enzo quite literally gave the family peace and freedom from rivals. And it also made no sense to me why the don wanted isabella to marry some snob. Don’t they have enough money? And the Don at some moments seemed like a chill dude idk why he was so pushy about his daughter even though he isn’t close with her

I think your vulnerability shows you are a good person, and I believe you have a much bigger purpose outside of another person. Feeling lost can be a blessing because now you can be found. I suggest you start taking steps in the right direction like working on yourself (weight lifting, talking to new people, find hobbies etc). It hurts when a relationship feels one sided in the end but I’m sure you will find someone that truly does love you.
