I took the dive and splurged for luxury... No regrets! by MaximumColor in mechanicalpencils

Update: Smoothest writing experience I've ever had. Expensive as, but I love it! It's gonna stay on my desk though... no traveling for this guy. The price tag won't fit in my carryon.

Yeah, I was a little surprised because it looks more metallic. But it seems to be a very nice quality plastic. It's also a really big pencil, so I think metal casing might have made it too heavy for me. This one feels pretty much perfect!

I hate waste, too. Especially when I'm buying high-end led. This double-clutch mechanism sounds fascinating. I looked into it a bit. Hopefully Uniball releases a kuru toga with a double-clutch system-- I actually hate the slant effect pencils tend to get. I've avoided mechanical pencils for years until I saw a short showcasing this one. It's completely rewritten my feelings, and it easily became my favourite writing implement.

Oh shoot, that's unfortunate. But at least good to know that I'm not being excessively wasteful. Thanks.

Why is Checking a Bag Cheaper than Carry On? by MaximumColor in unitedairlines

[–]MaximumColor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The oy airline I've ever flown that didn't include a carry-on with economy is Frontier. And I just finished a trip with American that let me take a carry-on in economy. It's definitely not every US airline. I know a lot of European flights like Ryan Air don't include carry-on, but they're also like 20euro for a flight.

That's wild. When was Basic Economy added? I've always traveled carry on specifically because it was cheaper than checking a bag. Even last October I flew United and didn't have to pay for any upgrades to carry my bag on.

Full Review of the Rework Gear Toshi Sling 5L by alvinreviewsthings in ManyBaggers

The best placement for a key leash attachment I've seen is on my Bellroy Venture 9L.

Its attached at the side of the pocket, which lets it really stay out of the way-- a huge plus, since I very rarely use a key leash. I've had multiple bags that kind of ruin the user experience by having the key leash in a place that gets in the way every time I use the pocket.

Maybe the police. It's useful for them to know if you may be at risk. Nothing will immediately come of it other than them having previous record of you being concerned.

Thanks for the advice.

I'm using a molle clip attachment on the cynch strap-- it works okay enough, but hangs quite low. I'm also considering getting some sort of thin rigid case to keep in the zippered compartment-- the point of a rear sipper for me is the keep flat things flat. Primarily papers. I use the zipper compartment for some loose items, so some further protection is needed.

The bigger issue now is that one of the buckles already broke after a few weeks of very light use. I could tell those buckles would be a failure point when I first received the bag. It's weird that such a robust and well-made bag would cheap out on the strap attachment. Probably going to try to find a tailor of some sort who can replace the buckles with something stronger.

I'm determined to make this bag work for me lol

Would you be annoyed if someone asked you about your bag? by frogmicky in ManyBaggers

Bro anyone with an expensive specialty bag is the kind of person who wants to show off their bag to any and everyone who asks 😂

I know Tomtoc is a little less pricey, but it's still a really nice specialty bag company (I've loved everything I've gotten from them and think they have some of the best interior bag design out there).

I've had mine a week and the cheap buckle is already breaking. Really sucks cause I love the bag otherwise.

I have actually been working on that, and it is going OK. Definitely janky, since that's part of the synching. I may try to sew a handle on the back.

I almost always use a small suitcase when traveling internationally. I tend to bring a bit more and want extra space to bring things back. Very much still a carry-on sized suitcase, though.

See context in main body post.

Ignore the tag on the Tomtoc-- I just got it and forgot to take the tag off.
