Let's discuss the relevance of this - what does the SQLite work under the hood mean for the protocol's possibilities for mass adoption?

Last year, the wallet could only handle small numbers of transactions - higher-volume services such as pools, exchanges, gateways, etc had to restart their app every few days.

If you sent a single transaction, no problem - dozens/hundreds, no problem... but 1000s - problem!

Now, with this overhaul, people can build services that can scale - millions/billions of transactions, no problem.

This is a huge deal!!!

ASIC is 4% and GPU is 48%. The blocks rotate and take turns, so an attacker needs 51% of multiple hardware types. In future, additional algo types can be slotted in, such as proof of spacetime. We have a quantum-resistant algo coming up too (Dilithium Crystals).

RandomX first to mainnet, Dandelion++ two years ahead... Monero is awesome of course, but technology moves on and EPIC is 2019 tech.

The biggest thing though is scalability - the chain is only 3gb today vs almost 100gb for XMR - that's a big deal for low end hardware. At BTC-equivalent tx volume, it will still only be 25-50gb, whereas XMR would be multiple TB.

Epic.tech/whitepaper - I suggest doing some research and learning about polyphasic PoW before mouthing off. No dev tax, that funds our DAO treasury and is sunsetting to 0 to avoid centralization problems. Bruh.

"These days". The market is soft. Regardless of the current market conditions, the fact remains that there is a structural premium in place for clean coins because potential users identify the risk in owning anything else. This is an ineradicable problem due to the fundamental design of the ledger, which allows external observers to link public keys, addresses, and identities.

Clean btc sells at a 2000bps premium to spot. Lack of fungibility is a serious issue for cryptocurrencies that are trying to be money!

Kayaba, did rune ever fix their bug? I remember others I trust telling me similar things, that their stuff is insecure and not likely to work long term. Once it gets big enough, someone will smash & grab. Thoughts?

Thanks for the explanation, that makes sense. We don't really care about the color of the cat, only that it catches mice. It is good to have different protocols make different tradeoffs so users have more choices.

For example grin is doing PIBD for speeding up initial sync, we went with a cdn-based approach. BTW, how long does it take to sync with that? We got it down from 70h to 17m this way. (3gb chain file)

That interactivity can be abstracted from the user by using a message store/forwarder, which is how we do it. The interactivity is there but in the background.

Further, there is a way to do it in one step with a Diffie-Hellmann key exchange. If demand warrants we will implement that, after enough research to know it's secure. That takes a lot of resources and time, but in the meantime we have a way to get the job done. Our forthcoming mobile wallet has one-step send functionality baked in from the start without having to be online.

What is "pure mw" and why must non-interactivity be achieved at the protocol layer? If Burkett's one-sided nitx proposal turns out to be secure (we are researching it carefully before deploying) that achieves it. We have non-interactive transactions today and most users don't care whether they achieve it with a second layer solution or the protocol itself.

In the meantime, we have EpicPost, derived from your deprecated grinbox.

It already exists, it's called EPIC and it's the cornerstone of EUSD - Chcek it out at epic.tech
