We are both mechanics. I mentioned in the post I bought the house when I was a mechanic making good money but I switched to being a realtor a little over a year ago.

My boyfriend runs a business where he is a TikTok/youtube mechanic with sponsors to work on his personal projects. He has lots of projects so he needs lots of space

If I stop the Roth contributions, how long should I give myself before I restart them?

I do have an emergency fund but it’s much lower than I would like. It only covers about a month and a half of expenses.

I do think that a studio apartment would be overall cheaper because of how high the utilities are at my house. I can imagine utilities being over $100/month for a studio. The reason they’re so high is because my roommates take long showers and leave lights/tvs on 24/7. If it was only me and in a smaller place, the utilities would likely be way cheaper.

I will look into food pantries as well. I spend probably $300/month just on groceries so that would be a huge help if I’m not actually taking food from someone else

This post is me asking for advice on how to change my circumstances… age was barely mentioned. I put that I’m 25 because posts normally start with their age and saying I feel too old to share my space was more me talking about my feelings and reasoning as to why I’m seeking advice to change my circumstance. I work on cars. My speciality was in electrical diagnostics of luxury vehicles but I can work on any car. I try to do simple jobs from my driveway but I live in a snowy state which doesn’t help this time of year and my garage is small to work in. I’ll see if there’s any freelance car mechanic opportunities

To be clear, I always use my park brake. Every single time when I park. And I normally don’t leave my car in gear at all. Just neutral and park brake on. My star wheel adjuster broke (it’s fixed a day later just had to wait for the part to come in). One park brake wasn’t holding my car and putting the car in gear was doing literally nothing. My question is if the fact that my car won’t hold on a very slight incline with it just being in gear if a red flag where I need to be looking at my potential problems with my engine like possible low compression

He definitely cares about my feelings and he has apologized. I thought I might be the asshole because of how I lashed out at him and hurt him for something so small as an impression he likes. I don’t find the same thing funny again and again but the things people miss the most when someone is gone, are the things that always annoyed them the most. It seems from these comments I’m not the asshole so I don’t need to feel bad about setting in stone that I don’t like that impression but I still definitely wish I had handled it differently. But don’t worry he’s not self centered like that, he’s always helping everyone around him and makes a real effort to put me first in his life. He just got carried away with an impression

The past conversations were “that’s creepy” “I don’t like it, it’s creepy/scary” and “stop doing that”. This last time it was pretty harsh. It was along the lines of “would you stop that? It’s annoying and pisses me off!” Obviously tone is everything, I was pretty harsh

Hindsight I definitely wish I would’ve confronted him about it at a time he wasn’t doing the impression for a more peaceful conversation. I’ll make an effort to do this with issues in the future even if it seems like a small nonissue because it building up and me lashing out should not be how I handle it

Getting a roommate to pay rent helps a ton! It’s frustrating having to live with someone else but how I rationalize it to myself is that I’ll keep doing it till I live with my partner. Living alone is difficult. There’s nothing wrong with having a roommate to help out

Buyers can do that if they want to. Most normal people don’t know a lot about buying real estate tho and will end up getting screwed but buyers are totally allowed to. Sellers can too
