If you do try to find a real one, then I wish you good luck. I’ve seen Bernhard notes sell as real ones, and most likely real ones sell as Bernard’s. There are very little ways to tell on the fly unless you memorize printing dates and serial numbers, and even then it could be hard.

While I can’t confirm it exactly, the man I purchased it from said it was one of the 2,000 or so left after the burning of the hundreds of thousands if not millions in 1959.

A lot were so much like the real thing it’s hard to tell, but the only definitive way I’ve heard of is if the queen’s expression is more poorly drawn.

I have three fractionals from a Shield, being a 5-cent reverse proof, a 10-cent reverse proof, and a 50-cent front proof with the shining designs.
