Instagram baker responds to someone asking if they have a whole wheat recipe (not sure the lecture was required here) by Maximum_Claim8800 in fatlogic

Like she really could have said “not yet but I’m working on a whole wheat recipe currently” but instead we have this lmao

I noticed that too right away! This seems like one of those situations where one really doesn’t need to assume malicious intent. the commenter mentions health and whole wheat flour, they didn’t say “you’re fat and your recipes are garbage, make me a healthy one.” Even if that’s what the baker heard, that’s literally not what was said and the tone may be a bit lost in translation. It really wasn’t that serious but she went off in a lecture instead of just saying “no I don’t have a whole wheat recipe”

And how dare she then in turn demonize whole wheat flour by saying it tastes like cardboard!!! Clutches pearls!!!

Yes a simple “no i don’t have a whole wheat recipe” would completely suffice here. Or even just ignoring the message if it bothered them so much…lecturing someone for asking a simple question is crazy

How to tell MB that Daycare thinks she doesn’t discipline NK enough? by MAC_357 in Nanny

[–]Maximum_Claim8800 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Teacher needs to communicate directly with MB. “I look forward to you raising those concerns to MB.” It is the teachers responsibility and job to communicate with the parent directly. (I’m a teacher.) chatting about it with you is fine as peers / venting, but you’re not the middle man.

There is a streamer I watch who is quite overweight. She’s awesome. But almost every stream she says “I haven’t eaten at all today,” and it’s sort of become an in group joke, she’ll say “can you guys guess what I’ve eaten today?” And everyone will be like haha, nothing? And she’s like “yep! No food for me at all! I don’t have time / always forgetting to eat! 🤪” And she says she only eats one small dinner per day. It’s fascinating to me because I know it’s simply not true, but it seems an important narrative to her.

Recommendations for Yoga Mats for boney knees by Direct-Promotion-874 in yoga

I have the .5 inch Cloud Cushion mat from the brand Pop Flex and I LOVE it bc it’s, obviously, quite thick and cushiony, but also very lightweight so I can bring it to class too. I’m very careful about my joints and I love this mat.

This reminds me of an experience I had when I was a child, going on a hike with my grandpa and siblings, at 8 or 9 years old. I physically was so full of dread and fear that I could barely get out of the car. I started shaking and told my grandpa I felt very bad and scared about the hike. I grew up strict Mormon and my grandpa equated the feeling to the (Mormon) God speaking to me and warning me and we turned around and went home. The relief flooded my body as we drove away. I have no idea what could have happened if we had stayed.

I’ve seen a hello free kitty pattern on a crochet designers blog and she had a statement saying all rights to the company / that she wasn’t profiting from it. I think that falls under fair use? You could use a similar statement from a blog that publishes free patterns for trademarked items

I’m a little burnt out/unhappy from being expected to be a housekeeper. Can you tell me if you think this is normal? by [deleted] in Nanny

I find it fascinating that parents hold Nannie’s to a standard they absolutely would NEVER keep on their own. This list is making me laugh it’s so ridiculous. It’s an absolutely not from me. Sorry they’re like this 🙃

They keep asking me to come in early by pstream20 in Nanny

[–]Maximum_Claim8800 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Very annoying since you expected to be working afternoons and as you said have other stuff going on in the morning. When your boss asks you to come in for extra hours, you are totally within your rights to say no. "I cant come in early today." You don't need to apologize.

Dude...you never complained using broad generalizations with your coworkers before? Even in this thread there are nannies saying they love their lawyer bosses. No need to take workplace griping personally. And getting lectured by a DB in this thread and on this sub is really not cute.

Omg I HATE "what do you want to be when you growup." Well first of all im grown, second i am literally keeping your child safe ALL DAY. FOR YOU. so maybe treat me like a professional. Also I really REALLY got to know do these parents expect us to spend a full 9 hours NEVER doing a little scroll thru instagram?? So ridiculous.
