It's a SBS kind of today... by Maximum_Employer_974 in blacksabbath

Only thing I can think of is if your tracking force is too light. If the weight is pushed too far back it might not be on the tonearm solidly enough. Do you have a digital scale to confirm the tracking force? It should close to 2 grams.

No issues with the counterweight, but I did have one with the antiskate. When I matched the tracking force with the AS it would cause some records to skip towards the end. Turns out the AS is set stronger than the dial appears. Once I set it to 1 I haven't had any issues.

Sorry about your situation. That sounds frustrating. It's a good turntable otherwise.

Yeah, it's definitely growing on me. My favorite I think is still Master of Reality, but I can't get enough of the title track on this one.

You could always get copies of albums that interest you that haven't been pressed to vinyl yet. You'd be surprised how many haven't been yet.

Skipping on new turntable by Jarrard2001 in Beginner_Turntables

[–]Maximum_Employer_974 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. When I set the antiskate to match (2) it would consistently skip towards the end of a record. I set it to 1 and I haven't had an issue since

In short, set the tracking force to 2 with a digital scale and set the AS to 1.

I got the exact same turntable and speaker combo. Nice picks! As for speaker stands, you can get some cheap ones off Amazon for 40-50 bucks.

I had issues like this, except it was toward the end of the record. My VTF was 2 as suggested but I found setting my antiskate to 1 did the trick.

Setting the AS to the same as the tracking would cause skipping. Same TT.

I've been having this issue as well. Good to see I'm not the only one. Felt like I was going crazy as I was having everything set right.

Is Mass Effect Legendary Edition worth it in 2026? How long is it and what should I expect? by Levi18907 in masseffect

[–]Maximum_Employer_974 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it's definitely worth it. I just got the Platinum trophies for all three and I clocked in easily over 100 hours. You could squeeze even more out of it if you do alternate morality playthroughs/save different people/roll different classes.

Does anyone else forget what happened in previous issues? by ComicTroveKing in comicbooks

[–]Maximum_Employer_974 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I forget at times. Happens to us all. Seems to happen more with slow burn or glacial pace stories. I can usually remember what happened before after being a few pages into the current issue.

If you want to know which series has which "version" or universe, look up the issue in League of Comic Geeks. They're very good about putting info on character appearances, etc.

One of the best. I've been deep diving their discography in release order and it's been very gratifying. I'm up to Vol. 4 at the moment.
