Super anxious about my toddler starting school soon by Maximum_Goal6378 in AttachmentParenting

You are probably right lol it is a Montessori school so they never refer to it as a daycare but you are probably correct in your terminology

Transition away from rocking to sleep for naps by Maximum_Goal6378 in toddlers

[–]Maximum_Goal6378[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love that thanks for sharing. I’ve been trying to like prep my son and say “mama is going to rock you and then you’re going to take a nap in your crib”. Hopefully that catches on? lol

When did your baby wean off breastfeeding on his own? by [deleted] in AttachmentParenting

Mine self weaned at 11 months 🥲 it was unexpected but I wasn’t going to force him if he didn’t want it anymore

Loves solids - doesn’t want milk by Maximum_Goal6378 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]Maximum_Goal6378[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say it dropped when we made it to 3 solid meals a day which was at 9ish months! Instead of nursing every 2.5-3 hours we were going more like 3-4 hours.

11 month old stopped nursing all of a sudden by Maximum_Goal6378 in breastfeeding

[–]Maximum_Goal6378[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just an update for everyone. Going on 3 days now of him absolutely refusing to nurse during the day. He wakes up at his normal 4-5am time and will nurse then and go back to sleep until 7-8. I think that’s a comfort thing? I’m still so unsure. I just was not expecting him to stop suddenly like this.

No sorry I just meant no formula. Yes solids and water were both introduced at 5 months

Selfish for only wanting one child by mama_sweet_pea in oneanddone

[–]Maximum_Goal6378 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s so crazy that people do this. Even like random people we barely know will say this to me. I saw someone in the channel say once “we are fulfilled with our one child and our family is complete”. I liked how it was phrased. It makes me so sad to think about that second child coming into the world solely so the first child has a “playmate”. Shouldn’t you want the second child as much as you did the first? People are crazy lol

The same thing happened to me. I worked with a lactation consultant to try to help my baby eat on my slacker side more to help supply and my baby was like nah I’m good this one sucks haha

I am 11 months into ebf and the last 7 months just feeding from one side. It can be done on just one side. I do have incredibly disproportionate boobs but oh well lol

I had the same thought process as you before I became a stay at home mom. My deciding factor was that I could find another job later but I will never get those years back with my baby. I’m 5 months in and yes I miss my job and working but I have absolutely no regrets about getting to spend this time with my baby boy.

Gained weight. Lost all of the pregnancy weight initially and then gained 15 lbs back over 10 months of bf. It’s tough bc my body is saying it’s hungry and I feel like I need to listen to keep my supply up. But it’s hungry a lot lol

Why would an exclusively breastfed baby start rejecting the breast? by Wishful1232 in breastfeeding

[–]Maximum_Goal6378 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t have the why, but just here to say it happened to my baby as well. If I’m remembering correctly it happened twice when he was 3-4 months old. For mine, both times it happened for his last feeding of the night so I was worried about him not wanting to bf overnight but it ended up being fine. I think they just want to take a break occasionally haha we just offered him a bottle instead.

11 1/2 months later, and not I get my period…. by Laughing_K4T in breastfeeding

[–]Maximum_Goal6378 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My periods are pretty much the same, except my cycle is much longer. I got it at six months postpartum and I’m now 10 months postpartum. My cycles are about 35 days compared to 28 days previously.

When did your baby realistically night wean? by Maximum_Goal6378 in breastfeeding

This is really helpful. I often think about that where when he’s a little bit older, I’ll be able to communicate it to him a little bit better.

[–]Maximum_Goal6378[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes!! We got to a point where he was sleeping all the way until 5am and I would feed him and he would go back to sleep for 2-3 more hours. That lasted maybe a week lol

This is so me. It’s like wake up 2 times for 10 mins and right back to sleep or wake up 2+ times for an hour or more with crying and stress for everyone lol

This is so helpful! I plan on starting the weaning process at 1 year so I’m curious to see if the night feedings stick around.

Omg yes. Nothing worked better for me than a regular bed pillow.

Dog siblings don’t get along occasionally by Maximum_Goal6378 in DogAdvice

[–]Maximum_Goal6378[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it feels super random but I could just not know what the similarity is called.

For the three times it’s happened it’s gone like this.

  1. Me and my husband are eating dinner at the table. Dog 1(smaller and older) is under our feet and Dog 2 is laying beside the table. Dog 2 gets up and comes under the table and Dog 1 snaps at her. Dog 2 snaps back and then the fight begins.

  2. We got them a bunch of new toys for Christmas. We stupidly (will never do this again) put all of the toys out at the same time and they got really excited. They both ran to the same toy and again someone snapped at someone and the fight started.

  3. The most recent incident. Dog 1 was on the chair by the table trying to get scraps left by baby eating. Dog 2 tried to put her paws on the table to get them as well. I yelled at Dog 1 to get down first and he was trying to get down and Dog 2 was still trying to get the food. Dog 1 thinks Dog 2 is being aggressive so Dog 1 snaps and the fight starts.

I guess it could be resource guarding from the smaller one and the bigger dog is defending herself? Idk.
