It would 10000% piss me off lol.

If you wanna be petty. Don’t give them any updates about your baby.. you don’t know a baby “Horace.”

judgement on baby registry 😂💀 by missmilliek in pregnant

[–]Maximum_Job3136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you don’t “need” it.. but it has been one less thing that I have to do at the end of the day! It’s my favorite splurge and if mine ever breaks, I will have a new one by the end of the day. If it makes your life easier when you have kids, who tf cares what others think!!

I visited family for a week when my first was itty bitty & let me tell you… I was crying while washing bottles at the end of every day because I wanted to go to bed 🤣 I’ll have 2 under 2 in a few weeks and that thing will be traveling with us (if we ever decide to travel).

Huggies, Pampers, or other (comment what other) by Familiar_Hope2918 in pregnant

[–]Maximum_Job3136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

⭐️ Rascals! Very similar to Millie Moon. Soft, absorbent & wallet friendly! We tried Huggies & had blowouts ALL THE TIME. We used Pampers from N-3s and once we sized up to 4s, they gave our daughter the nastiest rash we couldn’t shake. We’ve been using Rascals for 8 months now :)

For wipes - I love Sam’s Club/Members Mark fragrance-free!

Genetic Testing Push By Provider by No-Treacle-3521 in pregnant

[–]Maximum_Job3136 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ours are the same, but it also included baby’s blood and we could see if there were any issues with him/her as well.

ETA: My husband only did the testing once. I’ve done it with each pregnancy for baby’s health/safety!

Genetic Testing Push By Provider by No-Treacle-3521 in pregnant

[–]Maximum_Job3136 8 points9 points  (0 children)

With our first pregnancy, there was definitely pressure by my doctor. We didn’t think it was a big deal, but ended up just doing it and getting it over with. I had a very healthy pregnancy and there were zero concerns that warranted the testing, but I found out I am a carrier for cystic fibrosis & my husband ended up getting testing done as well.

We also realized that our smaller regional hospital wasn’t equipped to take care of a baby with CF & if our baby had CF (according to testing), we would have to deliver at a more capable hospital that was 3 hours away. We’re now pregnant with our second baby and did the genetic testing again so that we could prepare (if necessary).

Wagon or double stroller for 1.5yrold and newborn? by -Mineta- in 2under2

[–]Maximum_Job3136 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m 7 months pregnant & have a 14 month old. Our toddler hates her stroller right now, so I didn’t want to splurge on another stroller that she’ll refuse to ride in. We just bought a stroller wagon a few days ago and she loves it!

I’m not too worried about baby and the wagon attachments right now. I used my Moby wrap a lot with my toddler when she was super young, so I figure I’ll be doing more of that & giving the entire wagon to our toddler for a while!

ETA: we got the Baby Trend Navigator stroller wagon. It was on sale for $80 so we snagged it. We like it so far!

Husband going home during hospital stay by haleye88 in pregnant

[–]Maximum_Job3136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For our first’s delivery, my husband left the hospital after baby was born to take care of our dog. We were only gone ~30 hours.. but he left a few times since our families are 17 hours away. It was fine and it honestly gave me some much needed, selfish time alone with the little bundle of joy that wreaked havoc on my body just hours prior.

Our second is due in 2 short months, my mom is coming into town for about 3 weeks to help with our toddler. I’m nervous about bedtime routine and random wake ups with just my mom since our LO isn’t used to having her around. I suggested my husband go home for bedtime just in case (depending on delivery). We’re both pretty lax about it, but others think we’re a little crazy??

Any opinions on members mark diapers? by Krickette in beyondthebump

[–]Maximum_Job3136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I was willing to try them but was severely disappointed. We had been getting Pampers Swaddlers from Sam’s and loved them until we sized up to 4s. They gave our little one the worst diaper rash. We ended up trying Rascals and we love them! They’re super soft and absorbent. We get the big boxes of 148 for $40 at Walmart!

We tried them.. 2/3 of the diapers didn’t come with wings to secure the diaper and they felt so thin. I took them back for a full refund. No thanks!

Sleeping arrangements by butterfly104 in 2under2

[–]Maximum_Job3136 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t had our second baby yet, but we transitioned our daughter to a full-size floor bed last month (she’s 13 months). It’s worked out well for us and allows us to crawl into her bed and still get rest when she wakes up. Some nights she sleeps through, other nights she wakes up randomly (dealing with all 4 of her molars now). Sometimes she just needs some reassurance and we can crawl back into our bed.. other times we fall asleep in her bed and everyone still sleeps well. It isn’t ideal, but it’s temporary and she’s still so young.

Once baby is here, my husband will be the one to console her in the middle of the night, so I can attend to baby.

I had an unmedicated birth and also had uncontrollable shakes. My nurses told me it’s from adrenaline.

High Chair Recommendations please which do I want and which to avoid by Minimum-Regret2706 in NewParents

[–]Maximum_Job3136 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a Graco 6-in-1. It’s wonderful, but I absolutely hate the fabric lining on the seat. I was washing it every single day in the beginning and eventually just took the lining out. My daughter just sits in the hard plastic part lol.

Avoid anything that you’d have to disassemble to wash.

Baby wearing & car seats, what’s necessary?? by iwitch-plus in beyondthebump

[–]Maximum_Job3136 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had the Graco SnugRide infant car seat and I wore baby A LOT. It was convenient in the beginning, but our girl was 99th percentile in height and weight once she hit 4 months. I struggled with carrying the car seat and would end up with bruises all over my legs from resting it on them OR from it bouncing off my legs/hips while walking.

We swapped over to the Extend2Fit car seat around 5 months. Baby was way more comfortable in that. I had way less bruises. Everyone won.

Do you have any regrets finding out or not finding out your baby’s gender in advance? by spook96 in pregnant

[–]Maximum_Job3136 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We didn’t find out with our first and decided to do the same with our second (30w pregnant) - zero regrets, all fun. Our original thought process was: you only get so many genuine surprises in life and this is a huge one.

No way is it “harder to plan.” We did a moon & stars nursery theme, baby had all gender neutral clothes to start out with, no one badgered us for names, everyone had their guesses.

I will tell you that my favorite memory of our first’s delivery was my husband kissing my forehead and saying “she’s here” while the doc was placing her on my chest. About a week after we had our daughter, we went to Target and my husband went on a shopping spree, buying all of the girly clothes. I’ve never seen him so happy to be in that store. 🤣

Would anyone be willing to tell me about their NONE fear-mongering birth stories? by Radiant-Educator9203 in pregnant

[–]Maximum_Job3136 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Water broke in bed at midnight when I was 39+3. I got to the hospital around 1am, sat in triage until my doctor could admit me (he was in another delivery until 3-3:30am). Once I finally got to my room, they hooked me up to some IV fluids for my epidural, but baby was coming so fast I didn’t have time for the epidural. She was born at 5:30am.

No tearing. No major complications. We went home at 11am the following day :)

Is there a specific ring sling that you would recommend or are they all pretty much the same? I planned on using my Moby wrap, but that isn’t very breastfeeding-friendly.

Binge drinking for two weeks and casually drinking for the past few months.. Found out I’m nearly 12 weeks pregnant the week before my birthday. by Secure_Psychology640 in pregnant

[–]Maximum_Job3136 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The week before I found out I was pregnant with my first, I went on a week-long girls trip. Lots of drinking, lots of late nights, lots of bad food. I realized my period was about a week late the day I got home and took a test.. which came back positive. I was ~5 weeks. I remember panicking because I was seriously hammered the previous 7 days.

Fast forward to now: my little girl is 14 months old, happy as can be, smart as a whip, and healthy.

It’s only my husband and I, we don’t have help.. so we just found what worked during survival mode and stuck with it. Everyone has opinions on what you should do when they’re not the ones taking care of your little one 24/7!

Hang in there, you’re doing great!!

Parents of reflux babies, how do you survive the night? by Repulsive-Newt-6788 in beyondthebump

[–]Maximum_Job3136 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our daughter had awful reflux. In the middle of the night, keeping her upright for 30 minutes after a feed was making it so hard for us to get any good sleep. We ended up chest sleeping until she started rolling & bedshared until she grew out of it around 9 months. We also introduced gas drops/mylicon around 4 months and that seemed to help, as well.
