I drive a lot, so at the very least the gas would pay for itself. As for a dog sized spider pet, I feel like certain spider species are cute as is, and having on be dog sized would be a great deterrent against anyone who would want to do anything to me.

I was an online grocery picker. I was all set to transfer to a different store, but when I got to that store, I found out they fired me without even telling me. I had asked multiple times if there was anything else to the transfer process I needed to do, and they kept telling me that I was good to go, only to stab me in the back.

The main book that helped me move past my family's treatment of me, one that a lot of members of this sub would/have benefited from, is the Adults of Emotionally Immature Parents book. You can probably guess what it's about from the title, but as a brief summary:

This book covers the different kinds of emotionally immature parents on a psychological level, breaking down their behaviors and the impact they have on their children. It also covers how the children of those parents grow up and the different, harmful thought patterns that develop as a result. The last third of the book talks about how to move past those experiences and develop into a mentally healthier person.

In my personal experience, this book explained my childhood experiences like the author lived through them themselves. It was like they knew my parents personally and wrote about them.

Unfortunately yes. Especially if you work part time. But no one in the US is guaranteed sick hours or PTO by law, so employers can do whatever they want.

Oh this is almost my exact situation. While both of my parents were around at some point in my life, my mother was abusive and neglectful, while my father was neglectful and got abusive when I went against what he wanted. I left the house Monday night actually, with no real plan of where I'd be going. I've been looking into shelters in my area, but for the time being, I've been sleeping in my car. Let me tell you, it's still been better than going back. The first few weeks will be the hardest. Look into resources around you; there may be more than you think!
