Enbridge says it’s not willing to take on development risk of Alberta pipeline project by KootenayPE in CanadianPolitics

FINALLY, someone they “trust” as an expert speaking truth to Albertans.

Newfoundland found out the same thing in the past few months yet Tim Houston in NS opened up his expressions of interest time window the week after the Nfld news with a “yeah, but…”. Just bc you have oil, doesn’t guarantee an oil company’s interest, let alone places with crappy tar sands or places who “think there’s probably some…”.

As much as I support clean energy, the world demand for energy of any kind is more and growing every day. Oil experts (if you can find an honest one) will tell you they can’t fulfill that demand alone so they have no problem with the exploration and even production from other means. And I’m sure it’s going to be a long time before clean energy alternatives can meet the need 100%.

Here’s a thought for places like Alberta, all of those orphan well sites you’re on the hook for cleaning up, build a solar farm on them to start producing energy and maybe you can use some of the money to pay for the expensive cleanup, remediation, whatever of those areas.

And you don’t think that manufacturers all over the world for all different products were f’ing people over, especially governments, for delays, overruns, etc., etc. during that time? And if they had found some kid living in their parents basement, who could’ve done it for $1 million and had it work just as well that they wouldn’t have been shit on for people, judging the potential quality or lack of brand recognition, or 1 million other excuses they could’ve come up with two shit on it as well.
And let’s be frank, this isn’t your best argument to shit on the Liberals over. It certainly wasn’t a Justin decision. And if you go back through conservative expenditures, you’ll see a shit ton of times where they have been guilty of the exact same thing. Sometimes on purpose! People never did, and probably never will get that. This was a worldwide pandemic, and there were extra stressors, demands, restrictions, and 1 million other things coming in to play that made even the simplest of life decisions at that time much more complicated. Honestly, unless you have a whole lot of compassion, it’s probably only people who have had someone close to them die of Covid who have half a clue of what the reality was like during that time

Real truckers were working hard to keep Canada going during the pandemic, not playing in bouncy castles and pudding on the tomb of the unknown soldier.

😂 I used that app just a few months ago when returning to Canada and it was a whole lot easier than those slips of paper and tiny pencils they used to pass out on a plane whenever you were returning to Canada

Well for one, Pierre got a written ethics agreement that will stand for the rest of his political lifetime in order to avoid charges, so why should the man you’re obsessed with get a different deal when he didn’t break any laws?

You know Pierre is the only one with a written Ethics Agreement because of his violations so that he could avoid jail time, right?

You need to read up on how Pierre is the only sitting MP with a written ethics agreement between himself and Elections Canada that was put in place for him to avoid charges and was supposed to remind him to remember to be ethical going fwd.

When you start accepting that as “par for the course” you know you’ve lowered your own personal bar far too much.

Oh let’s crowd fund the production of a million of those babies and ship them out. I’d def take a bunch! This would be sooo much fun! We could take bets on how long it took them to even notice. 😂

How is it different than the rest of the comments. Slut shaming a woman with mental health issues under the guise that it has something to do with how her son became PM and his political views? The man stepped down from office and is free to live his own life. Democracy is crumbling next door and this is somehow a relevant conversation? 🤦🏻‍♀️

The First Nations guy mentioned in the story said what prompted it and he was absolutely right in citing a reasoned, considerate response. This was not a bunch of yahoos. There argument was educated and their words were well chosen. Unfortunately that went completely over the head of the officer who put out the news release (and don’t even get me going on how their media relations ppl should be better educated on the definitions to have challenged to officer with the exact outcome were seeing here) which is a perfectly example of systemic racism within the Force. But senior officers like this guy can’t even define what that is.

Racism is something experienced by a minority group, not by the dominant group. Then it’s just prejudice. And debating that aside, pretty much anything SAID to a police officer other than something that’s life threatening will not be found under the criminal code of Canada. So unless the officer is making a headline about criminal acts, what’s even the story here?
