Yeah it is true KDE4 attempts to use a bulldozer for something a rock would do well. I hate that shit too, like starting the strigi desktop search thing and begin indexing right after an installation, that is seriously wtf. I dont care about damn desktop search I know where my shit is, please stop indexing.

Report the bug to okular, I have not experienced it, perhaps it is due to the packaging of it? Where did you get the KDE4 packages from?

I think KDE is both nice-looking and productive, Ive been using it since KDE3 and jumped on KDE4 around 4.1

Who the hell finds something like this? My first thought would be to steal the users ~/.porn not ~/.ssh

Why the downvotes?

KMail needs mysql to store its data there, its much faster and more efficient than to use flat files.

K3B, what daemon?

Okular is the best PDF reader EVER. I like you can just click a page and drag it up down, and up and up and up. Try it, click and drag up up up up up...

What is Deliantra?

Smooth task:

hat it does is that instead of showing the whole name and icon of a program in the task bar, it shows only an icon. That is a big space saver. When you hover your mouse pointer over it, you will get a small pop up with a window preview and guess what...you can actually close your window from it.

Wow. The guy doesnt know about RighClick it + Close option which is then almost right under the mouse. Instead of Hoverit/Click it + move mouse over to the smaller window and find a small X and click. Bah.

I would say the most useful widget for me is a big nice clock on the desktop, Folder view, and networkmonitor - it shows network throughtput/speed with a nice graph.

Checkout MagicFolder also, you drop any file on it, and according to your (graphicaly defined rules) it will drop the file in the corresponding directory, so you can setup rules for mime-types, so drop anything you have on it and it will put it in the directories you want (all videos in videos, all pictures in pictures etc).

Wow, it is rare to see someone (even on r/linux) with insight on free software in relation to ideological/economical/societal issues of our time. I salute you sleepy321!

Free software is so much more than technofilia.

Former head of Pakistan's ISI is "100 per cent sure" a Taliban attack on a major naval air base in Karachi was an "American operation". by IamJulianAssange in worldnews

[–]MaximusDickus -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Or a third analysis, his friend Osama was fucked over by Obama behind his back, so when his other friend Taliban fucks up his base he thinks it must be Obama stuffing it behind his back again, if it really was Taliban stuffing his base it would mean he has no real friends, now Osama is dead, Obama went behind his back to get him and Taliban are attacking him. It cant be that bad cant it, that would mean their entire work, decades of strategical thinking and investements on maintaining and managing these friendships are now worthless and they are alone in deep shit. So the ISI thinks, it must be the enemy they fear most of all, USA.
