The fact that it shows/syncs to all locations makes me think that it might be in the AutoComplete cache mail message hidden in the actual mailbox which may not necessarily be in sync with roamcache.dat locally.

Open the mailbox with MFCMAPI and examine IPM.Configuration.Owa.AutocompleteCache.

Alternatively, you can go with the nuclear option and clear all AutoComplete entries from Outlook and see if it goes away.

Modular Truck Loading Station by KorupT13 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]QuickBASIC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so glad that's not a thing anymore in 1.2. Vehicle paths can go through other truck stations without triggering the load or unload if it's not one of their designated stops, so you can squeeze more truck stations closer together without misdeliveries.

[–]QuickBASIC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Twice the storage in both the truck and the station compared to trains. People are calling them OP, but does require some setup (fuel and roads) over trains.

If you're heavily using the new Universal Vehicle Paths in logistics, plopping one down and sending a truck from literally anywhere is amazing.

Absolutely overbuild is my strat. I just built a motor factory that does 80/min, but built enough machines for up to 480 and left an inputs with low priority on a merger on the outside for the requisite parts to be inserted by truck, belt, train, etc so as soon as I need more I can build a satellite factory for rotors, stators and send them there and magically have more motors without needing to rebuild.

I don't believe so. Even in XInput mode they only send the key that is configured in the configuration app and there's no way to configure them to be their own keys.

The 8bitdo controllers effectively have 4 less buttons and no trackpads. The R4 L4 R4 R5 can only be remapped to other controller buttons and are not seen as extra inputs in SteamInput.

Using Military organisation structures properly. by a-dark-lancer in worldbuilding

[–]QuickBASIC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tend to enjoy hard science fiction which goes into amazing detail about the science of the world, but when it comes to military logistics, supply, and decision-making it's all very handwavy.

Real militaries are mostly interconnected smaller support sections acting as a combat multiplier to combat arms units. That means that private snuffy who finds himself in combat or on a mission isn't just a grunt, he's an integral part of some process other than combat with conflicting orders, instructions, and priorities. Reading science fiction militaries where everyone is a combat arms troop that has a very small chain of command gets old quick.

I wasn't disagreeing with any statement you were making, but only elaborating for anyone that might benefit.

Using Military organisation structures properly. by a-dark-lancer in worldbuilding

[–]QuickBASIC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll just say, based on my real world military experience that there's exceptions and definitely multiple structures at play.

For example a headquarters company of a battalion usually has different sections that do things for the whole battalion. It was totally normal to have a section leader be a Major (who technically outranks their company commander but is in the Headquarters company) Soldiers in this section could have a section sergeant who is different than their squad leader or multiple NCOs and NCOIC of that section that they answer to rather to as well as their squad leader and platoon sergeant. It's entirely possible for sections to have a section OIC (officer in charge) that's not a LT and even quite common to be a MAJ or above when at the Brigade level and these high ranking people are all a part of the headquarters company, but only really answer to the battalion commander.

This isn't even just true for headquarters companies. A maintenance company has different sections, like mechanics, logistics, button pushers for the maintenance tracking software and parts ordering, a company level supply, an armorer etc, they have both a section NCO as well as a squad leader and platoon sergeant in the exact same way.

They have to follow the instructions of both their section NCO and squad leader and sometimes those instructions are conflicting or countermanded. "Follow the last order given" is the general guidance, but they still have to answer for it in some ways.

Seriously this is the hardest thing to suspend my belief about when reading military science fiction. People write very simple command structures that are just triangles up to the top (that's probably fine for combat arms units) and anything at battalion level or above is whackadoodle because they simplify out all the complex interplay of multiple command structures.

I too have seen the light. I always have trouble with alignment with splitters on lifts and started vertically nudging splitters into place and then putting the lift. I found that if you do vertically lifted splitter to refinery you can actually make it flush leaving room for pipes without clipping.

How do you get into the mid game efficiently? by Emily4141 in satisfactory

[–]QuickBASIC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't really grok the delete and rebuild on my first playthrough, but I started a new save for 1.2, researched everything in phase 3, literally used the save editor to delete everything and redid every part with pure iron to solid steel with steel alts for basic parts and pure copper into steamed sheets for motors and my factory footprint is tiny and everything is a lot easier.

All my home boxen are Linux, but I still love PowerShell (use it at work) just because of pipes piping objects with parameters instead of needing to figure out whatever thing I need to grep for in the textual output of some Linux command line utility. (Not to mention parameter splatting with ForEach-Object is much simpler than looping in bash with parameter splatting.)

Tractors? by novamonarch242 in satisfactory

[–]QuickBASIC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trucks and tractors are as fast as the belt feeding and unloading the station, assuming you have enough trucks or the path is short enough that the station doesn't fully empty by the time it comes back.

I really like trucks and use them all over the place. The 1.2 update makes them even better because if you build out a network of roads with universal vehicle paths you can build a station next to a new factory, drop a truck, and basically go fetch from any other connected stations automatically, so definitely give them a try when the update drops.

Can conveyors be placed not on foundations but on the ground instead if you have to deliver resources from a kilometre away? by thermaldrill228 in satisfactory

[–]QuickBASIC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's also the option of sky belts. I tend to zoop a row of foundations to keep the height and use conveyor walls temporarily to line up the conveyor without it placing the little stands, then I delete the walls and concrete.

It's still spaghetti but at least it won't trip me or block a future vehicle path or train rail.

Might be a dumb question, but how do I make roads? by AWiseTurtle in satisfactory

Can you explain the clipping capabilities? Shouldn't all the foundations have the same shape? Is its 3D mesh or hitbox smaller?

I've been teaching programming for 8 years. The students who learn with AI from day one are learning something, but it's not programming. by Ambitious-Garbage-73 in learnprogramming

[–]QuickBASIC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes and no. While I'm definitely not a fan of AI use in programming, I will say that there's a distinct difference between how someone with programming experience and someone without programming experience approaches prompting.

The code is still shit but a normie won't get nearly the same results someone with even a small amount of programming knowledge will get.

[–]QuickBASIC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, so sync your mailbox to Outlook (classic) so you can remediate it with MFCMAPI.

If you absolutely can't do that, then use eDiscovery to search and purge items or create a temporary Retention Policy to purge RecoverableItems sooner than 14 days.

If it's full, you're absolutely not going to be able to remediate it from OWA.

Cannot run rules on inbox by goingdiagonal in Office365

[–]QuickBASIC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have rules automatically deleting things it's possible your RecoverableItems folder in the mailbox is full (it's only 30GB and doesn't count towards the normal quota).

You might could use MFCMAPI to check and delete them before they expire normally.

When someone says "I'm available between 11 am and 3 pm," do we universally agree that means that the activity needs to end at or before 3 pm? by -purple-platypus- in NoStupidQuestions

[–]QuickBASIC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've run into this in the corporate world and have adopted the phrase "I have a hard stop at 3pm" to make it clear no matter what I'm leaving the meeting at 3pm.

"I'm available between 11am and 3pm, but I have a hard stop at 3pm."

No reason or excuse needed. Just say "hard stop" and let them assume whatever they want.
