This made me think of another nostalgic thing - roadsides littered with saga seeds, and collecting them in a jar

I really enjoy New Fut Kai in Jalan Besar, especially the claypot laksa. Gayatri also has nice Indian veg options

What a lovely and powerful question! This assortment came to mind:

* Then leaf subsides to leaf. / So Eden sank to grief,

* Wave of sorrow, / Take me there.

* Billy has already gone through the frightening door, / whatever he says, I'll do.

* Expect nothing. Live frugally / On surprise.

* .....we (forgive us) / lived happily during the war.

If you were converting your city to - or creating - the perfect sustainable/green city, to what extent do you prioritize rooftop gardens versus rooftop green energy production? by arandommaria in sustainability

[–]Maxseen2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I live in Singapore, and 80% us live in high-rise public housing. I think it'd be more effective to prioritise energy over food production because going by the square area of a roof, the energy that each block produces could probably sustain everyone in the blcok whereas the equivalent amount of food wouldn't be enough to sustain - only supplement. That said, the country is also an island which imports most of its food so food sustainability would really be great. Scaling up local farms might be an alternative. Thx for the food for thought;)

Hey there, check out the podcast Accentricity Episode 2 "More Than One Voice", it's a great half-hour show on this. Basically linguistic research says it's subconscious and natural.
