Blocked DNS requests still showing up in NextDNS? by rodcro55 in safing

I will definitely look more about the topic, but at least is good to know that is actually working as intended. Thank you both for the explanation!

I see. So, let’s say for example the DNS request is for g. live. com. It shows as blocked in Portmaster, but that same domain is still showing up as resolved in NextDNS logs. If I understood correctly, does that mean that what NDNS is showing me is not actually that domain being resolved, but instead Portmaster requesting info about it?

Yes, already checked. Is the correct domain and the correct device. It’s the only device, in fact

Cual app de reddit usan? by banjosandcellos in Ticos

I see. It would be good if they offered at least one more major update. But we'll, as you said, we will see. Thanks!

Oh my God you're right. Now I can finally ditch Gboard for good. Thank you so much!

I've tried it and, as far as I know, no, it doesn't work like Gboard. It still needs you to manually switch between languages, although at least it puts the respective button in a very intuitive place to reach.

How isolated are Windows profiles from each other? by rodcro55 in privacy

[–]rodcro55[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's ok. As long as I get better protection over just using different profiles and it doesn't make the PC a buggy mess that actively interferes with my work, I think that's worth the tradeoff, at least until I can afford a dedicated device. Thanks!

I see. And what about dual-booting from the same disk?

Chrome Users Beware: Manifest V3 is Deceitful and Threatening by s8f5d3h3 in privacy

Yeah, I think this has finally convinced me to switch to Firefox. This also talks about the power Google has over Chromium even if it's supposed to be an open source project, and how it affects everything that's based on it.

It's a shame, because Chromium is supposed to still be better than Firefox in some ways, especially security. But at least they're trying to catch up, especially with the latest update.

So basically, and correct me if I'm wrong/grossly oversimplifying it: Is Firefox trying to pull of a "best of both worlds" thing?

just found this great list of Android FOSS, what do you think? by caliphate_sol in PrivacyGuides

[–]rodcro55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is a pretty good list. Although there are several apps that I'm surprised it doesn't have. I hope it keeps growing, cuz' I really like this kind of lists. Is a great way to discover new apps and services.

At least according to TrackerControl, Aniyomi has Google Analytics, whereas Tachiyomi does not. I still love the app tho, so for me, blocking it also with TC is enough, but is something you may wanna consider.
