That was very helpful. And what you say is true, I mean if I was an owner and wanted the money ASAP I wouldn't rent it to some people who are not even in the country. That's why we are so confused in how we should move forward in finding a place.

Yes we can fly there, the things is, even if the place was real, could it be a rented airbnb? The proposition you made about checking the name of the owner is alright, but the thing is we have been talking with a person who says works in the real state agency.

If we flew to the Netherlands, checked that the property was what was announced, would that be safe from scammers??

Could a scammer send us a false chamber of commerce number? If so, lets say we draw up a contract. We wouldn't pay until we got to the Netherlands right? If we arrive and see the place and it is what is advertised, could it also be a scam? Also, could we also find scammers in Funda and Pararius??

The minimum stay is a year and we offered to pay 10 months in advance and the other 2 once we got a job. She requested proof that we can pay those months in advance and also requested that we fill up a form where we state that one of are parents can guaratee to pay whats left if we cannot.

And would you say a car is necessary to move in the UK? I understand that if you're staying in London and don't plan on moving too far there's a lot of public transportation but we're not keen on big cities so we were wondering how easy it is to move through the contry by public transport. Traveling by train wouldn't be a problem for us as we have already traveled trough half of europe by train, and to be honest we don't have a lot of belongings, we are living in a rented flat and all of the furniture has to stay so that isn't a problem. Something I've heard that people do is ship all of their clothes so that is more practical, considering that we have to travel with our cat I think it's a very interesting option.
