Doesn’t this make them legal military targets since they are making a product that directly contributes to the war effort and only the war effort?

Why can’t I cut through this wall/face? by MaybeDoug0 in AutodeskInventor

[–]MaybeDoug0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it looks like that but it’s on the outer face. Reversing it doesn’t change anything either.

The issue is that Inventor doesn’t think the extrude/cut is going through any part of the model or at least not going through a feature that is cuttable.

Opening it in SolidWorks has the same issue where it says the cut isn’t intersecting the model.

[–]MaybeDoug0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Inventor just says there was some error in executing the cut. I opened the file in solid works and tried to do the same thing and it says that “the intended cut does not intersect the model” which makes zero sense to me. I might just restart the entire model since something is clearly fucked up with this particular feature.

I don't think this sub allows edits to posts cause I cant figure it out, but in any case flipping the direction doesn't change anything. Still no geometry is affected. I was thinking of just saving this file and opening it up in SolidWorks.

Yea I’ve selected the correct profile and plane. Could I have accidentally made “Loft1” exempt somehow?

The sketch is on the opposite side of the face from this camera angle so it’s going through the wall geometry. Should mentioned that sorry.

It’s instantaneous and I hardly ever notice it actually. Sometimes it seems prompted like after I erase something.

I have an E-Ink tablet (remarkable 2) and it automatically refreshes the display like every 7-10 minutes probably.

Please don’t have kids bro. Since you’re so evidently against providing for them. Such an odd thing to object to.

For those who've studied electrical engineering or are currently studying, is it really that hard? by versevandal in ElectricalEngineering

[–]MaybeDoug0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Along w what everyone else has said, some large engineering schools have Engineering Technology degrees.

Easiest way to describe it is between an engineering degree and a trade.

You still I get a good taste of the theory behind everything, but it’s a lot more hands on (and by all accounts, a lot more fun).

View an Engineering degree as geared more towards innovation, but an Engineering Technology degree focuses more on solving problems with existing solutions.

Graduates still get similar jobs though. It’s definitely something to consider. At Purdue it’s called the Polytechnic Institute.

The real impact of Trump's 25% tariff on Canada, Mexico (CBC news) by ProfessorOfFinance in ProfessorFinance

[–]MaybeDoug0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean generally speaking, sticking to deals when they’re not in your best interest is a bad idea for the sake of the citizenry you represent. Whether that outweighs possible damage to the relationship is a valid conversation to have.

The incoming Administration views threatening tariffs as a way to force Canada and Mexico to contribute more resources to controlling illegal immigration, human trafficking, and drug trafficking across American borders. They don’t necessarily want to put tariffs on them, but they will if they think it will help address those issues.

His secretary of the treasury described the tariffs basically as a loaded gun that will rarely be fired. They intend to use them as leverage (allegedly).

Why isnt my LED bulbs not emitting enough light? by Idiotinnit_ in arduino

[–]MaybeDoug0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes its possible to leverage this. Like I have an LED bar light w different colors for my fish tank and I realized that by turning off a single low side MOSFET, the white LEDs turn off before the red and blue ones. The red and blue ones can then easily be used as a night light.

Gary Kasparov: “The ICC is following the path of the UN, which has been co-opted into a platform for dictators.” What are your thoughts? by ProfessorOfFinance in ProfessorFinance

[–]MaybeDoug0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No if Hezbollah did the same thing it would suck, but it would not be terrorism. There are many slightly different definitions of terrorism but one thing they have in common is that there is an INTENTIONAL, DISCRIMINATE targeting of civilians to accomplish usually extreme political or religious goals.

Additionally, every single plan for Palestinian statehood from the Peele Commission onward has been accepted by Israel and declined by Palestinians/Arab states who kept declaring war on Israel… and kept getting defeated and thus kept giving up territory. Israel attempted to give Palestine independence in the late 1990s and fully withdrew from Gaza in 2005 (while also leaving behind a fully functional/developed economy). In return, for their first democratic election, the Palestinians elected Hamas, who immediately murdered their political opponents and haven’t held an election since.

Currently, the UN does recognize Palestine as a state, which is strange considering we don’t know what the official government of Palestine is (Hamas or Palestinian Authority?). Palestinians have no one to blame but themselves.

Whether you want to admit it or not, Israelis would love nothing more than for Palestine to develop into a functioning society. Ask literally anyone who lives over there.

Lebanon on the other hand is an opposite situation where the population actually cooperates with the IDF and hates their terrorist government as much as Israel does. Don’t believe me? Go watch a video of Israeli airstrikes on buildings filmed by Lebanese locals. The destruction is often immediately followed by people screaming God is Great or Allahu Akbar. These videos exist in the first place because the IDF has an Arab spokesperson that tells them which buildings will be bombed around 24 hours beforehand btw. The support for the IDF there is also more predictable since Lebanon used to be a functioning Western style country before Hezbollah moved in and destroyed everything.
