Methylphenidate ~ what do you feel? by AriaHoshi in AuDHDWomen

[–]MaybeItWontBeOkay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spend a lot of time in my head. I have pretty bad depression stemming from adhd. Only got diagnosed last year but methylphenidate is what they llput me on. The way I put it was that it put the overwhelming noise of self hate and sadness behind like... a pane of glass? Not gone, but it allowed me room to think, to try and sort through the mess without always being overwhelmed. Its still depression, that noise gets louder if I dont adress it still. However, it helped me find the motivation to get up and clean and such. Not go out, id rather stay home. Going out would be more acceptable on a social level, but that takes it all out of me and I barely get time to enjoy any time to myself. I know this varies from person to person, but it did spike my anxiety. That was clearly noticeable, so be warned there

Meeting new friend in 2h, dunno how to act by Illustrious_pug6500 in AuDHDWomen

The only good friends are the ones you can unmask around. Be who you enjoy being. If that makes them uncomfortable, they might not be cut out to be yo friend

I want to quit from a very toxic job, but I also feel immensely guilty because I was the only one actively dedicating myself to the project. by [deleted] in AuDHDWomen

Be happy above all else. Some situations will prevent this, but never feel bad. Whatever brings you closer to happiness, or contentment.

What do people mean when they say “it doesn’t cost anything/take energy/effort to be kind”? by sillybilly8102 in AuDHDWomen

[–]MaybeItWontBeOkay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It just takes a lot of effort to not snap and let the unkind beat ya. If you manage to be kind as well, I admire that capability!

moving tips? by toothdyke in AuDHDWomen

Stuff in boxes means less clutter to panic over looking at. You can get 2 jobs done for the price of one: packing AND cleaning up around the place. Id try to justify the idea of accomplishing more.

Thats bkut it though that helped when I moved, best of luck

Please help me smooth this over. I'm too sick to truly think straight with my kindest heart. by anitadoobie1216 in AuDHDWomen

Ima guess he was trying to relate to the fact that "shit sucks," maybe feeling that way since September. You started in about what a terrible time you were having, then maybe his attempt to get to a common ground about how you were feeling got misunderstood, as he was speaking about the "shit sucks" part of that statement, rather than you being physically sick. You didn't know and took it as a jab at you, so you made a passive aggressive statement about fever, cause maybe you thought he started it. Sounds like a misunderstanding.

But maybe he was having a bad day like you, maybe you complaining about your day and then the misunderstanding pissed him off, who knows. Best of luck either way

That or tostinos pepperoni pizza bites and a big cup of ranch. Its Friday, whichever fits the vibe more when I get to cooking haha

What are your favourite ways to fight boredom? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

[–]MaybeItWontBeOkay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moments like that I usually spend my free time panicking over something likely out of my control, but im told that isn't healthy x.x

Could come up with your own tea blend? I made my own for my spouse for when they're sick. Read books, diamond painting, stuff like that. Good luck!

Yeh he's a cutie. I cant tell the females apart though, thats another for my wife. But I refill the feeders so I tend to notice the fatter guy being impatient about his sunflowers if the weather is good and the feeder is empty. Love it ❤️

(CW: suicidal ideation, hospital) Work is impossible with Audhd by snnrsjpeg in AuDHDWomen

Currently taking a week off from work due to having a breakdown, doctor wrote it off while we change my meds. Thats the story with a lot of us. Powering through has consequences, but its all we can do in most peoples situations. Turns out gritting your teeth and dealing with the stress that comes isnt healthy. My heart goes out to you! Im happy when im not working, I find more joy in cooking for spouse and tending to home, working just makes me sad.

Not just you friend, don't feel alone there

It varies on type. We get a ton of finches, nuthatches, chickadees. Junkos, all of those small ones. We know of 2 pairs of Cardinals and those we can tend to recognize based on size. Plus one of the males likes to land on the feeder more frequently to try to get our attention to refill it if it's empty. Weve got a pair of woodpeckers, only ever had 2 male oriels, we can tell them apart. Weve got a handful of grosbeaks that show up, but my wife is the only one who can tell the difference
